Today is World Drowning Prevention Day - how convenient! What better way to draw attention to 7/25 Drowning day than by choreographing a drowning the day before:

From the WHO: Anyone can drown, no one should

No he wasn't. Commented on that on the previous post.

I'm a WSI, BSA and Red Cross Lifeguard, Open Water SCUBA.

The guy can barely swim. Did you notice he was wearing flippers? Still kept going under and could barely make forward progress. Probably a natural sinker as well.

Just the sort of "thinks he can swim" who gets all macho and gets straight into trouble.

Yea the story earlier today was he couldn’t swim.
Seemed highly unlikely

Agree. He’s a very weak swimmer. I wouldn’t let him go on open water without a ski vest.

If you can’t swim, and get in water over your head, you wear a freaking lifejacket.

I know that makes it harder to balance yourself on a paddle board, but, it can be done.

He can't swim "quite well" - he is a very weak swimmer who can barely keep himself afloat with flippers on.

This is not some sort of conspiracy. He got overconfident, and drowned himself.

How the Obamas chose to handle this is totally suspicous, but that's just after the fact. They're liars; lying is what they do.

They make excellent float vests for kayaking and paddleboarding.

I am a very strong swimmer - to the point that I run rapids better OUT of my kayak than IN (I'm just a beginner-to-intermediate kayaker). But I never, never, never get in my kayak without my PFD.

For sure. I’ve even seen “instantly inflatable” life vests that have a small high pressure air can attached that can immediately give buoyancy, at the press of a button, without affecting comfort or balance before being activated.

sorry for the man who died and his wife and sons.

the Obama house on the vineyard looks like a bunch of pieces from a snap together kids toy building set. the pieces down seem to flow together, very unappealing, ugly IMO. waste of yard space too, poor design of the whole thing.

I wonder if those who dressed MO in those ridiculous outfits are the people who designed the house and yard?

He knew something and someone didn’t want him spilling the beans.

Why the need to tell a lie about them not being there?

I bet obama was the other paddle boarder and did not try to rescue the chef.

“Looking forward to the autopsy.“

PURELY accidental or the usual - ruled a suicide… END of story.

I’d classify him as advanced intermediate. From his freestyle technique I can tell he was never a competitive/team swimmer. However I’d consider him near the top of the set of people who never swam competitively. He kicked (on his back with flippers) across the 25y pool in the 15-20 second range, far past the capability of the ‘general public’.

Now that we know all this, I still don't think we know the half of it. There are major pieces still missing from thiz puzzle

Doubt there's any other explanation than that this was indeed a paddle boarding accident.

Folks can believe whatever they want but it does nothing to enhance the legitimacy of this website.....

Are you suggesting that a megaladone shark may have knocked him off the board, thus resulting in his drowning? And the authorities are covering it up due to the summer beach festivities going on in the neighboring communities? That makes sense to me......LOL!

Flippers are a trap, unless you're scuba diving.

They make you way overconfident.

No way this guy is even an intermediate, let alone "advanced." He is struggling to stay on plane, even with flippers.

I never swam competitively (I was too busy with my studies and with horseback riding in school) and I was a "stayer" rather than speedy, but I was a solid WSI and also worked as a lifeguard. This fellow would have immediately attracted my attention from the stand, and not in a good way.
