EXPOSED: DeSantis Doesn’t Have Enough Donors to Qualify for First GOP Debate
National File ^ | July 17, 2023 | CHARLES DOWNS

Team DeSantis is looking like 'Team DeSaster'

Laura Loomer exposed Ron DeSantis for not having enough donors to qualify for the first RNC debate in August. FEC records show DeSantis is raising a lot of money from a small pool of globalist elite donors. DeSantis’ fundraising stats are just another item proving that the Florida Governor has very little support from actual GOP voters.

Loomer tweeted, “The RNC said in order to debate in their first debate on August 23, candidates running for President are required to have a minimum of 40,000 donors.”

“However, I was looking at the FEC reports that just came out and @RonDeSantis only has 16,841 filtered results that show up on his report for individual donations.”

“It doesn’t look like he’s going to qualify to debate…”

“I don’t see anyone else talking about this.”

Is the @GOPChairwoman going to overlook the fact that DeSantis didn’t meet the requirements?”

“Ron DeSantis shouldn’t be allowed to debate on August 23, according to these FEC documents that only show 16,841 individual campaign donations.”

Fox News is hosting the first RNC debate on August 23rd in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Milwaukee is also hosting the RNC Convention in 2024.

Ever since Tucker’s departure from Fox, the network has become compared to a pro-DeSantis media Super PAC. If 45th President Trump had failed to secure the donation requirements, Fox News would likely be screaming on all their shows that Trump should not be allowed to debate.

Unsurprisingly, the network has remained silent on DeSantis’ failure to obtain the required number of donors.

DeSantis has raised millions despite the fact that he only has 16,000 donors, indicating that the Florida Governor is raking in millions of dollars from globalist elites and showing the disturbing fact that America’s elite are attempting to crush the will of the American people.

National File has reported in great detail on globalist influence on Ron DeSantis’ campaign.

The Dims will create donors from thin air to help DeSantis get to the debate.

I guess he forgot to tell his big donors to order their employees to pony up to beef up the numbers.

Seriously, he is the governor of Florida and belongs on the stage. At this stage, pack ‘em in, see who catches fire. It is too early to have these things anyway. Of course, that’s not Mike Pence’s problem.

This USA Today article says that he has about 50,000 donors as of late June:

Doesn’t the GOP also have criteria, about candidates having a certain minimal amount of support in national polls? Certainly DeSantis easily qualifies based on polling, if they indeed used polling support as a criterion.

Nah, no more than we donated to third tier Dem candidates in 2020. They don't like him, and don't want their name linked with him. In 2016, Jennifer Rubin spent most of her columns bashing Cruz. She despised Trump more, but until Cruz conceded she could not IMAGINE Trumpstaying ahead, and stayed at her post, like the "boy on the burning deck".

The boy stood on the burning deck
The ship was sinking fast.
And as he stood there sinking too
His captain floated past.

Hahaha. Funny but I assume they’ll change the rules to get the results they actually want. That’s how it works these days.

There is this political pundit named Bill Mitchell, I used to follow him religiously on social media. Back in the 2016 election he kept me off the ledge when thing looked rough, he was all-in for Trump.

Now he is flying the DeSantis flag and has turned into an annoying blowhard...

I go to his twitter feed from time to time just to see how ridiculous it has become... I’m just flabbergasted!

I wish the poor man would repent and come back to the fold...

Agreed, he should stay in Florida and it is too early for any debate.

Exactly, I see no reason why Ron DeSantis can’t be allowed to participate in the debates.

The # of donors qualification is there to ensure that the candidate has enough support from the base voter to be viable. DeSantis does not.

The New York Times (no friend of DeSantis or Republicans) reported he had surpassed the 40,000 donor threshhold back in May. I don’t know the current poster is putting out such bogus information and getting all the Trump cultists so charged up.

“Doesn’t the GOP also have criteria, about candidates having a certain minimal amount of support in national polls? Certainly DeSantis easily qualifies based on polling, if they indeed used polling support as a criterion.”

Yes, there is a polling criterion. No, DeSantis hasn’t met it yet – nor has anyone else.

The problem arises from the way the RNC set the polling standard. The only polls that count are those that include at least 800 likely Republican voters. National polls usually sample more PEOPLE than that but they draw respondents from the entire electorate, so they might fall short of 800 likely Republican voters.

So far there’s been only one poll that met the standard (see https://www.politico.com/news/2023/07/12/anti-trump-presidential-candidates-poll-debates-00106000 for details). From that article:

“The poll showed eight candidates hitting another RNC debate criteria: that they garner at least 1 percent support. Those were Trump (56 percent), Ron DeSantis (17 percent), Vivek Ramaswamy (8 percent), Mike Pence (7 percent), Nikki Haley (3 percent), Tim Scott (3 percent), Chris Christie (3 percent) and Asa Hutchinson (1 percent).”

I assume DeSantis will qualify. The candidates who are on the bubble, though, might have a problem, because they’ll have very few chances to hit the qualifying minimum. Most of the polls that get widely reported won’t count.
