It’s not even funny anymore. I’m not sure why people are enjoying this, no matter how much the satire hits home. The country is falling apart, and the best that conservative citizens can do is laugh at the suffering of fellow citizens.

The satire that makes people laugh has ALWAYS been used in dire times, from underground plays put on in Nazi Germany, to Dickens, to Jonathan Swift, to Aristophanes. It is part survival, part emotional reinforcement, part being a weapon of the weak against the strong. The bad guys hate it, that is for sure. That is why the pre-Musk Twitter shut down the Babylon Bee.
