Police in Tennessee said a homeowner who shot two intruders and killed one of them over the weekend will not face any charges.
Police in Murfreesboro said in a news release that two masked men forced their way into a home on Friday night just after 8 p.m.
The men, who were both armed, tased the family’s dog upon entering the residence.
Police said the two then held a teenage boy at gunpoint.
The news release said the two intruders were not only masked but were also wearing gloves.

Amen. I used to get a technical rag weekly with a regular columnist. Always worth a read. On the week in question, the author had received a new C compiler to evaluate for the weekly column. The write-up was pretty good except for a one word. The author intended to use "compilation", but the ever useful auto-correct entered "copulation". The spell checker missed it. The author missed it. The author's editor missed it. It went to print with national distribution. The readers didn't miss it.
The author was Robert X. Cringely. Hopefully a pen name as this oops was cringe-worthy.

Returning fire/ shooting criminals just about always ends in smiles all around.
Calibre matters - a few years back there was a story of a black guy breaking into a suburban home and the housewife emptied the entire clip of her .380 into and around him scoring multiple hits. The perp fell down and then begged her to stop shooting and to call an ambulance.
I don’t recall if the dude survived or not. Also not sure if she reloaded ... just in case.
