It's deja vu all over again. A man is dead in the subway system of New York City and the responses were all too predictable. Jordan Neely, a sometimes Michael Jackson street impersonator, died after being put in a chokehold by an ex-Marine, Daniel Penny. The NY Times and the Washington Post seized upon it to rebrand the dead man into a totally innocent victim, with the Post even raising the specter of racism. "Senior prosecutors" are looking into the death (which means, as this is Alvin Bragg's turf, you can bet Penny will be charged with murder and as a hate crime). Neely was harassing subway riders when he was put into the chokehold.
There were the inevitable protests which made NYC look as though it has descended into total anarchy.

Want to see what NYC cops have to deal with?
This is exactly what we, as cops who are Black, go through when dealing with BLM and the other supposedly “pro-Black” groups. We get it twice as rough as the other cops. According to BLM, we’re supposed to be on their side (even though a lot of Black cops I talk to are very… https://t.co/7SM14SJREy

Watch as the cops here are provoked by the so-called caring "protesters"
The initial moments when protesters disrupted NYC subways, holding doors before jumping onto the tracks and all chaos broke out. A female blows into some sort of screeching device and a black man tells an officer “don’t touch me!” pic.twitter.com/PvOADNh4dG

These vermin emerge from their lairs to harass cops and citizens
This woman/man in green is one of the approximately dozen that were were arrested for protesting / demanding justice for Jordan Neely. He/she repeatedly shouts into NYPD cop’s face:

Have you seen what it's like on the NYC subways?
Just another day in new york city safest subway system, where innocent people are being harassed and assaulted. But the mayor wants you to ride the subway instead of driving, to save the environment. pic.twitter.com/9FfVzfzLoC

The protesters profess that their concern is all Jordan Neely.
It's not. It's all about them.
Jordan Neely was just an excuse to riot and vandalize. None of them cared one iota about Jordan Neely before this happened. Not one.

I haven’t seen anything to suggest Neely was muling drugs that killed him,
NY Times came out with a piece today that was quite clear about all the problems Neely had, his history of chaos, and even some praise for the Marine who took him down.
State-run media has issued its position on this - so we can expect the red-guard protests to stop immediately.
Nah, Neely was a different kind of thug. 40 arrests, including one for IIRC harassing a kid or something, which netted him only 4 months behind bars before they turned him loose.
Welp, then one less crime wave.
The victims are, usually women, elderly and children.
Too bad that no one, with a national platform will get the truth out.
Two random white people were shot in the back of their heads by a black racist because they were white.
Where is the media coverage of that?
Well, then, I guess he’s not just like George Floyd.
Blacks are murdered by blacks much more often. They only notice when a white does the killing, justified or not, especially a policeman.
Beautiful 21 year old girl in Phoenix, the other day.
The 21 year old pregnant woman in NC, shot 7 times and lost her baby.
Staggered into a convenience store, lay on the floor and not one of the blacks there would help her.
Yep.
We should be careful not to ascribe this globally to blacks, in the same way they should be careful not to ascribe this behavior globally to whites.
What we DO demand is even-handed, rational coverage and addressing of the issue by the media and local, state, and federal governments.
Those things are not only NOT happening, which would be bad enough, but they are sensationalizing and pumping up only one side, and worse, they are attributing personal defense or an LEO doing their jobs to racism, when what occurred in most cases is CLEARLY justified.
Watching those videos, I cannot see any common ground of any kind with a single one of those people.
Nothing.
We are now completely split as a country.
By design.
I think - based on the previous convictions that he was less a thug and more a mentally ill - a seriously mentally ill person.
He should not have been on the subway system - he should have been in a mental asylum.
Be brave, like ex-Marine, Daniel Penny, and end up on the prosecutorial chopping block.
The citizens know that the penalty for challenging a violent victim-class citizen could easily be felony jail time.
BTW, I didn't post that, if you were addressing the one that did.
SCOTUS ruled that crazy people can’t be locked up unless they are a threat to themselves or others. Neely died happy, knowing that he was free to terrorize a subway car full of commuters, thanks to the Baker case.
