Oh, you are absolutely right. The inflation rate on what matters, but we really by, is more like 15%, or maybe higher. Depends on where you live and what you bye.
But when I write these, I try to use easily verifiable official data, so that nobody can accuse me of politicizing it with exaggerations.
Unless, of course, I am writing a column, specifically talking about the lying statistics of the federal government… And specifically calling them out. I do that occasionally.
