Former Fox News host Glenn Beck said Monday that the departure of Tucker Carlson would “kill” the conservative news network.
“I think that’ll kill Fox, I really do,” Beck said. “I know so many people that still kinda like Fox, they watch other shows, but they’re like, Tucker is the only one I really trust. You lose Tucker Carlson; I think that really kills them.” “You’re getting rid of Tucker Carlson? Wow,” Beck added. “Letting him walk out the door even? Wow.”

IMO, Tucker Carlson will end up on Independent Media, much like Joe Rogan and perhaps Substack with a regular column.
He will own 100% of everything he does with no limits on the topics he can cover and will make huge amounts of money more than he’s currently making.
It’s been reported that Rogan’s Contract with Spotify is worth 200 million, not counting his sponsorships and income sources.
IMO, Tucker would be crazy not to go this route and crush it on independent media. I predict a year from now, Tucker Carlson will be happier and more successful than at Fox and wonder why he didn’t make this move a couple years earlier.
On the flip side... Larry Kudlow, Marc Levin, and Maria Bartoromo, Steve Hilton, and the Fox business guys are always good though.
Special Report with Brett Baier is on every weekday evening, for one.
Time for Musk to buy CNN (for him ‘at a song’) and put Tucker in charge of news.
Like it was killed when Beck left?
Actually, this might be better for viewers who don’t want to wait thru Watter’s World. Now you get the broadcast at your own convenience. Look at the Megyn Kelly clip. It’s as good or better (no commercials) than what she had at FOX.
>Fox News Radio is as biased as NPR.
That is a fact. KKFT in Carson City carries Fox News on the hour. I turn it off.
I dumped Beck long ago. Mainly because of his childish nasty Friday morning phone call “practical jokes”. Where he and his nasty giggling toadies played tricks on random people. What a scumbag.
I never missed Tucker’s show. I’ll watch FNC when I start drinking Bud Lite. I like Hannity but he’s too perseverative.
Rupert Murdoch and sons may have shortcomings, but low IQ and impulsiveness are not among them. Surely they have a plan.
My strong hunch is that well in advance of 2024 they want to join Fox News and the Wall Street Journal more closely. This means upgrading the roles of WSJ folks like Kimberly Strassel and Paul Gigot while pushing out comedy and freewheeling opinion. Expect Brett Bair, Britt Hume and Maria Bartiromo to stick around but possibly not those who are irreverent or “loose cannons.”
I have to believe that Tucker Carlson negotiated a magnificent exit. I imagine that any non-compete is immediately null and void, for example, and that TC and his producer keep all of the J6 videos from Speaker McCarthy and all of the content surrounding those videos, as well as anything and anyone else that TC wants to take with him. Carlson will see considerable urgency to get back up and running soon, because his content is red hot.
Fox must know that they are going to lose viewers by the truck load and that TC will immediately catapult any franchise he joins into contention. Fox must also have seen this as inevitable and that taking the hit now is better than taking it any time later. I expect more of the Fox News people out in just the next few weeks. The place will look altogether different by late summer.
It did for me.
And he was begging Tucker to join The Blaze. 🙄
As some popular talking heads at Fox exit, we should also not be surprised to see Chris Wallace negotiate a buyout at CNN and return to Fox. Or a return of Megyn Kelly, just for example.
Murdoch and sons have options and can create a new and rigorous brand that serves the center-right, with considerable appeal to independents and the center-left as well. They will take a huge immediate hit but use 2024 as a window to establish themselves and re-build their viewership.
It couldn’t happen to a nicer bunch of pussies.
Fox is absolutely terrible at news coverage.
And there isn’t a show on television that can just interview someone.
If the guest disagrees with even a tiny part of the host’s narrative they get really upset and demand that the guests agree with them.
Sorry, I can’t stop ruminating. Let’s imagine that Murdoch and sons want to push out a lot of the current lineup and make the place over into a WSJ-like news organization. The path is not hard to imagine:
* upgrade 5-7 faces from the WSJ (e.g., Kimberly Strassel, Gerard Baker, Karl Rove) and the National Review (Andrew McCarthy)
* Bring back Chris Wallace, Megyn Kelly and perhaps one other former Fox “star”
* Seriously upgrade Maria Bartiromo who is by far the classiest and best of the remaining talking heads
* Give more air time to Britt Hume, Juan Williams and a few others already on staff
* Bring in 2-3 folks like the Hoover Institute’s Peter Robinson for weekly shows (he does Uncommon Wisdom, which is G-R-E-A-T)
* Recruit away 1-2 other RINO news personalities from other networks
I think they can push out the current Fox lineup almost entirely, fix these replacements and voila, a new brand going into the fall of 2023.
Fox has no sense of humor. Never have.
I disagree. They just don’t care. We will lose our country, but they will still be stuck on stupid.
What is this “Fox News” of which you speak?
The Fox is dead Jim.
