Ukrainian servicemen go on night patrol around the city of Bakhmut with shelling audible in background and plumes of smoke rising in the residential area.
Servicemen said shelling was especially heavy at night and in the past week.
“Last week – I am telling you – they use everything from mortars to S300 missiles,” serviceman who gave his nom-de-guerre as ‘Marine’ said.
Fighting has raged in and around Bakhmut in Donetsk region for months, with Ukrainian forces holding out despite regular claims by Russia to have taken the city.
