My country has been invaded by Russia. In this video I will tell you what happened on the four hundredth day of the war.
Day 400: March 30
Last time I told you that the situation to the north of Avdiivka has stabilized, and the Russians did not secure any additional ground. The freshest reports suggest that the area under Russian control is actually smaller than previously estimated. As you remember, during the previous Russian offensive campaign, they were supposed to capture 2 out of 3 remaining Ukrainian positions. The Russian side recently released combat footage showing how they assaulted and captured a Ukrainian strongpoint north of the settlement. It looks like Russian forces used at least 4 armored vehicles and a lot of infantry. They managed to suppress Ukrainian fire and get close to the trenches, and gradually push the Ukrainians westward. The video also shows that at least a full squad of Ukrainians managed to get away.
It looks like there are at least two trench networks still under Ukrainian control: one in the western part of the village near the lake and one east of the lake in the tree line. Today Russian sources reported that they tried to get closer to the trenches but only engaged in positional fights with no changes to the front line. The updated setting indicates that Novobakhmutivka is still under partial control of Ukrainians, although due to the geography, the positions inside the village itself have almost no tactical value because it is located in a deep valley, so whoever controls the trenches on the hills around it, is the one who controls the settlement. This also explains why Russians are attacking the trenches in the tree line from the south and not from the settlement itself.
Ukrainian sources also reported a lot of actions around Krasnohorivka. Ukrainian Assault Drone detachment from the 110th Brigade showed how they effectively prevented another Russian attack. The video features another instance of tight cooperation between artillery and drone operators and shows how the spotted assault squad gets destroyed by artillery fire. Another footage shows the aftermath of an assault from Krasnohorivka that Russians managed to realize. Here Russians lost at least two armored fighting vehicles and around a dozen troops.
As seen from the map, Russian forces remain vulnerable to counterattacks from the north, so they started taking measures to protect their flanks by mining the areas suitable for potential counterattacks. Unfortunately for Russians, Ukrainian drone operators from the 110th Brigade spotted a pile of mines that Russians prepared to use and burned it down. So, Ukrainian drone operators are dealing a lot of damage to Russian forces, and their situation is about to deteriorate even further because Ukrainians have recently relocated to Avdiivka, the most famous drone formation, which is Madiar’s Birds Drone Battalion.
Russian assaultmen from the 5th Brigade recently posted a video where they said that their battalion was completely annihilated in suicidal attacks from Vodiane. The battalion initially had 161 soldiers, but after sending one squad after another, only 19 of them are still alive. They said that they were forced to attack because anti-retreat forces in the back threatened to kill everyone who refuses the order. And this is one of the best troops that Russians have because many of them have prior combat experience after fighting in Donbas in 2015 as volunteers.
Simultaneously, Russian mobilized soldiers said that after completing the training for artillery, instead of artillery, they were given guns and were sent to Donetsk to storm Ukrainian positions. Their families also made a public appeal to the president.
Today, British Intelligence also reported that Russians are preparing to mobilize 400 thousand more people. In order to mitigate country-wide discontent, the mobilization is planned to be announced as voluntary. They already tried to gather at least one battalion worth of volunteers in each region and failed, so if they couldn’t find even close to 50 thousand volunteers, they are unlikely to have 400 thousand more. In reality, recruitment offices will just covertly mobilize whomever they can to fulfill the quotas. And some Russian citizens also started mentioning that, for some reason, they received letters from the recruitment offices with a kind notice to check whether their registered address was up to date in their system.”

Units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine during the day repelled more than 40 attacks by Russian occupiers on front lines in the Kharkiv, Luhansk and Donetsk Regions. It was announced by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In the Kharkiv Region, the invaders conducted unsuccessful offensive actions in the area of the settlement of Synkivka.
In the Luhansk Region, the Ukrainian military repelled enemy attacks near Bilohorivka, the fighting in the area of which has been going on for several months.
In the Donetsk Region, the invaders continue to try to capture Bakhmut, where street battles continue, as well as surround Avdiivka.
During the day, the Defense Forces repelled attacks in the area of Ivanivske, Novokalynove, Stepove, Avdiivka, Sievierne, Pervomaiske, Nevelske and Mariinka.
During the day, the invaders launched 10 missile and 7 air strikes, as well as carried out at least 15 attacks using multiple rocket launchers (MLRS) of various types.
During the day, with mortars, tanks and artillery of various types, the invaders fired on areas of almost 70 settlements along the entire front line.
As Ukrainian News Agency reported, earlier today, March 27, the commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, said that in Bakhmut there is now the greatest intensity of fighting.
We also reported that today President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited the positions of the Defense Forces in the Zaporizhzhia Region, and also met with the military.

Russia’s plan to get 400,000 more people to volunteer for its military likely won’t succeed, and authorities may have to coerce people into signing up, according to UK intelligence.
The UK Ministry of Defence noted in an intelligence update on Thursday that Russian authorities are reported to be preparing to enlist 400,000 new contract soldiers.
This comes at a time when it’s losing significant manpower in Ukraine.
But the UK MOD said it is very unlikely that many Russians will choose to sign up, so authorities will end up coercing them instead.
“Russia is presenting the campaign as a drive for volunteer, professional personnel, rather than a new, mandatory mobilisation,” it said.
But “it is highly unlikely that the campaign will attract 400,000 genuine volunteers.”
The MOD added that Russia would want it to appear like people volunteered “in order to minimise domestic dissent.”
“There is a realistic possibility that in practice this distinction will be blurred, and that regional authorities will try to meet their allocated recruitment targets by coercing men to join up,” it said.
Russian news outlets reported that the defense ministry plans to recruit another 400,000 contract soldiers this year, Insider’s Matthew Loh previously reported.
The drive is expected to start on April 1, and regional governments have already been told what quotas they are expected to meet, Radio Free Europe reported.
The UK MOD said that adding new troops would not fix Russia’s struggles in Ukraine.
It said that “rebuilding Russia’s combat power in Ukraine will require more than just personnel; Russia needs more munitions and military equipment supplies than it currently has available.”
The expected recruitment drive would be the second mass mobilization that Russia has undertaken since it launched its invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
Russia declared a “partial mobilization” of 300,000 reservists in September.
That mobilzation resulted in tens, if not hundreds of thousands of Russians fleeing the country to avoid being drafted.
At the time, only existing military reservists were supposed to be called up, but the Kremlin later admitted that it made “errors” in selecting people, after reports of those with disabilities or no military experience being called up came to light.

STORY: A GoPro camera mounted on a Ukrainian tank shows the vehicle crawling forward. Its massive canon then lobs shells downrange.
This video, released by the Ukrainian military, claims to show fighting near the shattered city of Bakhmut in the eastern part of the country, where Kyiv’s soldiers have fought Russian invaders for months in a battle both sides have described as a “meat grinder,” but neither has so far managed to win.
The tank’s platoon commander, call-sign “Bender,” told Reuters his unit fired on Russian positions, in support of Ukrainian infantry.
Russia has claimed in recent days to have made progress in street-by-street fighting. British intelligence on Wednesday said Ukrainian forces had successfully pushed the Russians back from one of the city’s main supply routes.
The head of a private Russian mercenary group heavily involved in the Bakhmut operation on Wednesday acknowledged that the fighting had badly damaged his forces.
“The enemies of democracy must lose.”
Speaking to a summit of democracies sponsored by U.S. President Joe Biden on Wednesday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy told fellow leaders that they needed to hold firm in the face of Russian aggression.
He again pleaded for continued arms and support to help his forces push back Moscow. Ukraine has in recent months begun to receive a suite of modern military hardware promised by the U.S. and NATO to help Kyiv mount an expected spring counter-offensive.
It’s unclear where and when that operation might take place.
Ukraine on Wednesday struck a railway depot and knocked out power in the Russian-occupied city of Melitopol, but Kyiv hasn’t said what weapons it might have used. The city just at the edge of the range of American-provided HIMARS rocket-launchers, and within range of newer American armaments.
Melitopol is a rail hub and administrative center of the Russian-controlled Zaporizhzhia region.
It’s south of the Russian-held Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, visited on Wednesday by U.N. nuclear agency chief Rafael Grossi.
“It is very very important that we agree on the fundamental principle that the nuclear power plant should not be attacked.”
Grossi has been pushing for a safety agreement between Ukraine and Russia to protect the facility.
Moscow and Kyiv have repeatedly accused each other of shelling the site of the power station over the last year.
The sprawling Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant was a prized part of Ukraine’s energy network and accounted for around 20% of national power generation before the Russian invasion.
It has not produced any electricity since September, when the last of its six reactors was taken offline.

Desperation and fantastical thinking take hold of “top US foreign policy experts” as they contemplate an end game in Ukraine…
- CSIS admits crucial weapons and munitions face critical shortages including HIMARS launchers, 155mm artillery rounds, anti-aircraft and anti-tank missiles;
- CSIS suggests the US could deplete all of its inventories along with Europe into Ukraine to make up for critical shortages or shift to “substitutes” despite being inadequate for Ukraine’s requirements;
- A recent confab of US foreign policy experts attempted to come to grips with the coming end game in Ukraine in which they see a Russian victory owed to its ability to supply more weapons, munitions, and trained manpower;
- Suggestions to turn the tide include sending 1,000 M1 Abrams tanks, creating (another) foreign legion, and transferring weapons to Ukraine to strike deep within Russia;
- However these “solutions” range from unrealistic to entirely counterproductive;
- Ukraine doesn’t have the manpower or time to assemble crews for 1,000 M1 Abrams tanks, a foreign legion was already created and already failed, and striking deep inside Russia will likely only help Moscow justify further mobilizations;
- Sanctioning China is also considered, with no self-reflection on the flawed reasoning that led to ineffective sanctions already placed on Russia;
- Only a fundamental change in Washington’s premise can a sensible foreign policy be proposed, one that sees the US cooperating constructively with all other nations rather than attempting to subjugate all other nations;
Russian subjugation of Ukraine is the intent of this war.
