That is because of the way he dressed. Problem is Ray Epps has been totally let off the hook. This guy did not get that treatment.
I wonder if he can get the plea deal annulled and then sue for false prosecution.

According to the Daily Mail UK article, it’s fairly routine for the bureau of prisons to allow early release into a halfway house in cases of good behavior. So I’m not sure how big of a win this is.
One thing that is interesting is that apparently they normally only allow a max of 12 months early but in this case it’s 14 months early.
I totally agree about how the Jan 6 people have been treated. Reminds me of dissidents in Cuba or something.
"Gentle eccentric" describes him pretty well. He was a local fixture around the Phoenix area before the Jan 6 business. Professionally, he was a local voice actor, but he was also a notorious attention seeker showing up at a wide at a wide variety of public events in his shaman get-up and getting up to take the mike if he was allowed to. He was allowed to speak at some of the 2022 Stop the Steal rallies until the organizers realized what a crank he was and how bad an image it was to have him up front. I think the guy finally got in over his head on Jan 6 and the Feds simply wanted to make an example out of him.
Very interesting.It was obvious from early on that he was a harmless flake. His biggest mistake was cutting an extremely photogenic figure with his horns and face paint. It made him irresistible to the media and the Democrats. They needed a “face of the insurrection” and he fit the bill.

Perfectly stated, as I see it. Chansley is a threat to no one, and never has been.
He was there when the police murdered a woman. There is video of the murder. He saved another’s life.
He is locked up as he could testify against them.
