More importantly Finland makes the best heavy ice breakers of which the US is in dire need. Only the Polar Star is operational, held together by bailing wire and duct tape.
There are currently 3 being build by VT Halter Marine located in Pascagoula, Mississippi. First one not expected until 2025.
