TRUMP RIPS DESANTIS OVER DISNEY BATTLE ‘HOAX’
RSBN ^ | March 13, 2023 | Summer Lane

President Donald Trump eviscerated Governor Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., in his ongoing battle against Disney and its Magic Kingdom in Orlando.

“Ron DeSanctimonious totally caved in his public relations inspired battle with Disney,” Trump wrote on Truth Social on Sunday. “That’s the only reason he went after them in the first place, to show Mr. Tough Guy. Disney maintained complete exemption from property & sales tax, tax-free bonds, and their incredible fast track permitting.”

As reported by RSBN, Gov. DeSantis recently signed legislation in February (HB 9B) that ended Walt Disney World’s self-governing status by terminating the corporate kingdom’s special privileges in Florida.

This move came after a months-long skirmish with Disney following their public criticism of DeSantis’s falsely labeled “Don’t Say Gay” bill, which simply prohibited sexual instruction in the classroom for children up to third grade.

Wow the $1M Disney gave @GovRonDeSantis paid off ! Desantis pre-election Disney rhetoric was phony hype. Disney maintained:
• exemption from property & sales tax
• tax-free bonds
• fast track permitting https://t.co/LE2AtbLAwe pic.twitter.com/l8eQnAyThR— Roger Stone (@RogerJStoneJr) March 12, 2023

DeSantis’s newest legislation purportedly ended Disney’s control over the Reedy Creek Improvement District, as well as their exemptions from state regulatory reviews and approvals, via RSBN.

However, President Trump has hit back at this “public relations inspired battle with Disney,” accusing DeSantis of playing games with Floridians and Americans at large.

“They [Disney] also gave big political contributions to DeSanctus,” Trump continued. “The whole thing is a Hoax – They probably worked together to make him look like a fighter. Read Rick Foglesong, preeminent authority on Disney.”

Trump is not the only one to criticize DeSantis’s war with Disney and claim that it may be shallower than it appears. In his statement, Trump directed supporters to read Rick Foglesong, whom he called a “preeminent authority on Disney.” Foglesong recently published an opinion piece in the Orlando Sentinel that took a hammer to DeSantis’s “war” with Disney.

In it, Foglesong claimed that Disney has maintained its exemption from property and sales tax and still enjoys fast-track permitting privileges. Per RSBN, HB 9B replaced the Reedy Creek Improvement District with a state-run board that would strip Disney of its control over the special tax district.

According to Foglesong, DeSantis’s politicized war with the House of Mouse has been skin-deep. He noted that when Orange County implemented a law-enforcement tax for property owners in unincorporated parts of their county, Disney was exempted from it.

Foglesong wrote:

“Was this abuse corrected by DeSantis and the Legislature? No, a ‘new sheriff’ may have come to town in the form of a new board of supervisors, as DeSantis called it, but the powers and prerogatives of the board essentially remained the same.

And what of the $1 billion in bonded debt they inherited? Beforehand, Reedy Creek borrowed a lot because they could borrow so cheaply, claiming the district contained a city with real residents and therefore able to issue tax-free municipal bonds. Tax-free as in subsidized by the federal government aka federal taxpayers.”

Newsweek also reported in 2022 that between 2019 and 2021, Disney Worldwide Services donated over $100,000 to the Friends of Ron DeSantis PAC, per the Florida State Department’s campaign finance database.

So then DeSantis has now set up a board to make Disney pay its fair share of taxes. That sounds like a positive.

But then the board turns around and gives Disney everything they had before.

Am I describing this correctly?

The tax exemption isn’t as big a deal as this piece suggests. They pay directly for their own public services. There is no need to tax themselves to pay for those services.

I wish I could pay for my own services. My kids have graduated HS. Yet I still pay school tax.

Did Trump prevent the steal in 2020? What’s he doing differently this time?

What's DeSantis doing to prevent a steal in the swing states in 2024?

Even if DeSantis wins the nomination , DJT will run as an independent and win.

Fair enough. Maybe just helpful advice then that presenting arguments in that way makes you “sound” like a nut.

If President Trump didn't "stop the steal" in 2020, candidate Trump isn't going to in 2024, especially when the two states he whined about the most (Georgia and Arizona) have the exact same governor or even now a Democrat.

If you believe 2020 is stolen, there is absolutely nothing preventing 2024 from being stolen again. Why even bother voting?

I don’t really have a clue but that’s exactly how it could work out, in theory, right?
The minute I heard of a ‘board’, I smiled.

Governors come and go.
So do boards and members.
The only one that stays constant is the Mouse/Rat that happens to be known as a money printing machine..

And people like money.
Governors and boards and members of boards, included..

Note the barrage of DeSantis sycophants posting practically in the same minute.

Back at you, FRiend: Note the barrage of Trump sycophants posting frantically against DeSantis and those who favor him over Trump.

Trump continues to divide his base.
The enemy is California, not Florida.

Michael Savage warned Trump to stop attacking DeSantis because it could backfire and risk alienating more people.

We are beyond 2016 and Trump’s attacks on DeSantis look really petty. Meanwhile, I am okay with Trump attacking Mike Pence that guy (Pence) is a loser.

The guy who’s pitching UN/WEF/Agenda 2030 smart cities, rebranded as “freedom cities” and has declared himself the “Father of” the Covid jabs really isn’t in a position to point fingers on much here.

Why even bother voting?

I have no reason to. I was gerrymandered from a purple district into a 75% Democrat district. Beth van Duyne WAS my congress person...no more.

My money and support are now devoted to the True Texas Project, a conservative grass roots organization with 20+ chapters throughout Texas. This group thinks of RINO as a 4 letter word.

Oh, I'll vote in 2024, just to say FJB.

Piling people into 15-minute, smart city control grids is indeed their agenda. (But surely Trump’s “freedom cities” will be different!”) As was getting everyone jabbed.

Trump needs to return to 2016 candidate Trump. There are plenty of things to attack: Biden, China, Ukraine, Silicon Valley, Democrats, the Economy, the Border, etc. He shouldn’t be focusing on DeSantis, he is turning people off. I have no reason to be angry at DeSantis, he’s not even in the race, and has done plenty well in FL.

The 2020 election fraud was horrifying. Desperate Donald’s incompetence in dealing with the fraud was very disappointing.

And what is desperate Donald’s plan to overcome fraud in 2024? I haven’t heard one, he’s too busy insulting Ron DeSantis.

The DeSantis plan is the the one he used to turn Florida from a swing state to a Republican stronghold; win 60% of the vote and bury the Rats with a landslide. Desperate Donald can’t adopt that plan, because unfortunately too many voters simply hate his guts, no matter how good a job he did for his first 3 years as President.

President Trump may have the best foreign policy record of any President in my lifetime. The best possible outcome for the USA in 2025 would be President DeSantis and Secretary of State Trump.
