Apple has backup software that is called Time Machine. This is likely what the engineers she overheard discussed. If the word “virus” was mentioned then it was likely a computer virus and backups are likely to be discussed regarding computer viruses.
From that she invented “Apple invented nanoparticles that let you travel back in time to deliver vaccines”.
