Yep, biggest population of Kai-yotez is in the Bronx, but I believe they have been spotted in all five boroughs for at least the past two decades. I prefer them to raccoons.

Which infers that Queens is an island. Technically you are correct, however, Queens is a borough of New York City. I was born in Brooklyn and lived in Queens until my family and I escaped. To say that Queens is on an island makes it appear like an isolated borough like Staten Island.

Perfectly ok according to some on here. We humans moved into "their" area.

Not sure where the humans are suppose to live. In the sky perhaps?

Whatever. Staten Island is an island. Manhattan is an island. Queens is ON an island. If you want to explain what you were thinking, fine. But don’t try to make me out as being wrong when I said Queens is on an island. Point is coyotes would have to take bridges or tunnels to get to Queens; they’re not likely to be passing through to somewhere else.

People from NYC do not refer to Queens as being on an island.

No, they refer to it as being on THE island, which cracks me up since Manhattan and of course Staten island are also islands. I’ll let you know the only reason I’m still at this is I’ve become fascinated how so many people have become so resistant to saying, ‘oh, right...’ on the internet.

Frankly, I’m originally from a village on the island, who thought it was so odd that people from my village called The Village in The City, “The Village.” To me, Long Island included only Nassau and Suffolk, which is why it’s so funny to hear Manhattanites refer to Queens as The Island.

Various islands of NYC

Brooklyn & Queens: The Island (which happens to be Long Island, but isn’t Long Island)

Nassau & Suffolk: Long Island

Manhattan: Da City

Staten Island: New Jersey.

(Joking about that last one.)

We went from Brooklyn to Queens then to Bay Shore, LI - I’ve never heard that Queens was ‘on the island’ - Nassau and Suffolk, yeah, but never Queens. Again, we escaped from NY when I was seven so maybe the designation was changed. :)
