Just as funny:

The Gannet-owned Cincinnati Enquirer is trying to make up the lost print sales by selling their digital version. They just published a big pat on the back article that they were up to 40,000 digital subscriptions. You can buy an introductory six month digital subscription for $1.00!

And if you wait a day before re-upping your subscription for another six months, it is only another $1.00! So that pays for almost ONE employee.

Are newspaper’s dying? You betcha!!!

Our local is a Gannett paper, too, with the same deal.

Thanks to Rush Limbaugh, millions of Americans get their unfiltered news through local AM radio stations. Morning, afternoon or evening, one can find a ration radio station in an irrational world.

You also get an actual newspaper on Thursday, not much better than one day a week. The Tribune-Review messed up by cutting delivery to Pittsburgh’s South Hills; they actually print a paper seven days a week.

I get the Shreveport Times for $8.00 per month - Sunday Paper only. I used to get it daily but I got sck and tired of all the queer and tranny stories and all the “the Klan was bad to black folks back in the day” crap. It was bought out by Ganett, and it no longer represents Shreveport. I just buy it now for the sales ads, and the NYT Sunday puzle.

No idea. Our hometown paper was bought up by some outside conglomerate, so I stopped subscribing.

I use my neighbor’s newpapers from his trash bin to start fires in my wood burning stove.

oh, look, a few weeks ago we had a cold snap in Florida. I went to Publix and bought some firewood for a nice little fire ring we have in our yard.

I figured I would buy a paper for kindling...and saw the same thing. Sun-Sentinel (I subscribed a long time ago but cancelled when their devotion to wokeness and hatred for conservatives and Republicans became too much to bear) was selling for $4.50...and it was NOT a weekend.

What a ripoff.

I can hardly wait until these liberal rags die. Forever.

I used to buy a USAToday at lunch when I was traveling for sales jobs.
Just for the sports pages.
Then their sports pages got to be preachy, op-Ed, liberal bilge.
Wised up!
Would stop at motels to use their toilets,
Get a free cup of coffee,
AND a free paper!

New york times charges $6 per month for the first year then $25 per month. I too use my neighbors times as kindling. I get a kick out of reading old headlines, like Bidens in charge time to build back better.

Online is $4.99/month for the first year, then $16.99 a month.

I enjoy having a subscription to the New York Times. As the leader of a corrupt media, you do have to read it through the lens of truth, but it's enlightening to see how deranged the other side is with their propaganda. There are some interesting topics and articles that do come up from time to time which are informative.

Folks like to complain when Freepers post articles from leftist sources, but it's important to understand how the other side thinks if one wants to beat them. It's basic Sun Tzu. If one wants an echo chamber to confirm their bias, there's plenty of places for that -- including Free Republic.

I found those numbers after a quick search.

I agree with you that we need to keep an eye on the opposition to see what they are thinking (if at all).

That is one of the things I used to like about the Drudge report that it seemed to show all sides. There might even be times when I am wrong. I can’t understand why Freepers complain about left wing posted articles.

I surf here and the Liberty Daily but the Liberty is kind of an echo chamber.
