Saw this fella and two of his friends in my backyard a few years ago, February 2019. They were sniffing around exactly where our two cats liked to hang out in the daytime. So we had to build them a cat enclosure after that. It’s on our deck, and they can go hang out whenever they want. They love it.

Wow - I know that’s a dangerous animal, but he is beautiful.

Dang, that is one fine play pen for cats.

(I noticed you called it a cat enclosure…not a cat house)

I would be so ticked that it scratched up the paint finish.

They live inside but can access the “catio” through the window. We have a cat door that is attached to a tunnel that opens into it. We fashioned a roof from plastic lattice and tied it down with zip ties. I used some clear heavy duty shower curtains to make a weather guard, so they can go out in inclement weather, which they do.

When we took out a tree one year, I kept one section with branches aside and let it weather for a few years. Then I scraped off the bark and used a marine varnish to weatherproof it some. We added a variety of levels for them, and a loft at the top that they really love. It’s been the best $500 Saturday project we’ve ever done.

Thanks! It’s been a winner here. Now we can go out of town, and not worry that they are stuck inside the whole time. We have only occasionally had a chipmunk or bird be brought inside, and all have been rescued and returned alive, though I admit, it was tough to let the chipmunk go. They are so destructive. Lucky for them they are cute.

Looks to me like he is taking his morning sun ... after dining on a particularly plump Chihuahua.

That is one fat coyote. Probably one of the neighbors is feeding it (something other than cats).

That is one healthy coyote!

My thought too. The ones around here look moth-eaten and downtrodden.
