“Western” culture?
I think it is a bit broader than just the English speaking world. “WE” have assimilated good ideas from many other cultures.
Doesn’t it boil down to whether you believe each and every person is made in the image and likeness of God, and/or is believing each individual is entitled to the same respect as part of a social contract?

Doesn’t mean everyone acts in a way deserving equal respect. Especially when destroying everything around them. Yes, there is a “spark in divinity “ in Nancy’s imported MS13 gangsters and the Jihadis conquering Europe. But they don’t deserve respect from a civil society not their own which they are destroying.

That’s more a Christian idea. You can find that echoed among Ethiopians or Assyrian Christians.
