The BLOOD of 58,000+ men and women of the US Military Services are on the hands of LBJ and MacNamara. They are also responsible for all the millions of injuries, mental issues, physical problems, suicides by disturbed military personnel from that so called Police Action. It was NO police action. It was a pure damned shooting and dying WAR!!! I thank my GOD that I survived alive though I was wounded and carry that, and other disabilities brought on by that war and my military service. I don't know one career military veteran that does not have one or more mental or physical disabilities brought on by our service. We paid with our health and bodies!! I endured three surgeries because of my wounds while on active duty. I will, next month, endure my SIXTEENTH surgery since 2008, all because of military service. Toss in 67 epidural procedures in my spine also.

Almost to a man and woman, every veteran that I am still in touch with have all endured many surgeries, epidural procedures, knee and shoulder replacements, and back surgeries. Some suffer from Agent Orange contamination and suffer mental issues. And the US congress claims that VA is where we should go for help. Tell that to all those veterans out in Arizona that died awaiting appointments and procedures a few years back. Thing is, like my several good, retired friends, we would all, do it again. Because we all loved this Republic and wanted to serve our nation and its people. I retired just before the Sec Defense and the Service Secretaries with congressional approval, changed the military retirement system and instead of collecting 1/2 of your final month's base pay as promised for 20+ years of service, they now have to open a 401k plan and the gov tosses in their penance pennies to assist you. We and our families had free medical care at any military hospital. Now, they have to pay for their families to get medical care. If you are thinking of entering the military, check carefully all that they SAY you will earn, get, for your service. Then make your decision. Just one man's opinion.
