Life comes at you fast. On Thursday, Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett decided not to get involved with Joe Biden’s student loan forgiveness scheme, denying a Wisconsin group’s bid to block the order. That had liberals spiking the football, suggesting that it wouldn’t be possible for anyone to gain standing to challenge the president’s move.
Things shifted quickly on Friday, though. The 8th Circuit has now put an administrative stay in place, stopping Biden from moving forward with any cancellation of student debt.

Six different Republican states led the charge to get the almost certainly illegal plan blocked until the merits of an injunction can be adjudicated. Now, with the pause button pressed, litigation can move forward. And given the makeup of the 8th Circuit, it’s very likely the GOP-led states come out victorious. Eventually, things would likely reach the Supreme Court, and that’s just as bad of a playground for Biden.

Every single time a court goes against the left’s wishes, Stern is there to insist that the move was extreme, nonsensical, and contrary to procedure. Likewise, Stern has never met a decision that benefits the left that he doesn’t love. What a coincidence, right?
It’s also very rich that these people are complaining about nationwide injunctions after leftwing judges used them constantly against the Trump administration, even when they clearly weren’t justified. The left doesn’t want to live by the precedents it uses to harm its opponents. Tough luck, turnabout is fair play.
Hopefully, this is a first step in striking down Biden’s student loan forgiveness scheme. The idea that the president can, with the stroke of a pen, spend one trillion dollars in an attempt to buy votes before a mid-term is absolutely insane and tyrannical.
It’s really B.S that they can’t forgive student loans but they can hand $65 billion to Ukraine. I understand that what he did is dumb and unconstitutional but handing them loans to begin with is probably just as unconstitutional and yet no one said anything about it (being in a post constitutional Republic and all). I also get that Congress voted to give Ukraine the money in a budget but why are their enough votes to give $60 billion to Ukraine and can’t give anything to Americans? Yea, don’t I sound like a Liberal? The truth is, if the money is going to be handed out it may as well benefit countrymen.

Think of the following quote from Adrian Rogers “The government can’t give anything to anyone that it does not first take from someone else. For every person who receives without working someone else works without receiving.” So the “benefit” of giving money to a bunch of college graduates who had the poor judgment to major in something that has little to no value or who are just too lazy to become gainfully employed MUST be paid for by plundering the fruits of the labor of those hard working Americans (taxpayers) who did make good life choices. Federal Student loans have been offered to American students since the 1950s, with the first National Defense Student Loans with Sputnik and the fear of the Soviets getting ahead of us in technology. Not unconstitutional—the Higher Education Act of 1965 was passed by Congress then and amended many times.
But what Biden is trying to do now—writing off 2 out of every 5 loans completely and reducing the rest—IS unconstitutional and changes the meaning of the word “loan”—Congress needs to get involved when $1 trillion is at stake. I agree with you though about the Ukraine spending. It’s mystifying.
Joe needs to propose this through Congress. They have the power of the purse. Unless they have already appropriated the funds for this. But I haven’t seen this to be the case?
I don’t think Biden ever thought it would pass muster. Like his letting small time weed convicts out of prison (there aren’t any) speech it was just tossed out there to get support. The bonus is blaming Republicans for stopping it.

This student debt fiasco does three things;
1. Raises tuition (this seems to be a constant)
2. Devalues a college degree (this seems to be a constant)
3. Encourages meaningless degrees
If Trump had been President, the false so called “Anti Inflation Act” would never have been nor the NATO move
Instead poorer working citizens would have been given a 2K help.
Very little in comparison and would have helped the true economy.

Great idea for a vanity thread.
The problem here is that with a student loan, think who we are talking about and keep in mind, repayments are all income driven. The more you make, the more you pay. I’d rather pay an extra $500 or $1000 a year in added taxes than $500 each month in student loans. People don’t care how it affects others, it’s all about me, Damnit!
