There are plenty of white Latinos who are not mixed with indigenous or African ancestry. When I lived in Miami I met many people who looked no different from folks from Madrid, Rome or even Paris. When I lived in Brazil, my neighbors and coworkers were often of Italian, Portuguese and even German ancestry.

Anytime I hear an American say something dumb like “our area is mixed Caucasian and Hispanic” I want to slap them.

I worked with Brazilians who are descended from Confederates who fled there after the civil war. They have a big celebration every year and wear their Confederate uniforms.
