CNBC | Oct 7, 2022 | self

Yesterday I caught good part of interview of NCL CEO Mr Del Rio on CNBC. According to Del Rio, NCL has more bookings for 2023 than either 2018 0r 2019, and at higher prices.

Cruise ships may be a good place to be when the nukes start flying.

I never thought of that, thanks for cheering me up.
Especially since the ship stops at all these backwater Caribbean island countries which are not sending money to Ukraine, Putin has no reason to aim his nukes there.

Thank you. Always nice to have both daughters and their spouses joining in a carefree holiday. Also joining the sail are both parents of my SIL.

I have no interest in taking a cruise when I read about all the diseases running wild on these ships. Enjoy your trip but make sure you have had all your shots and your medical insurance paid up. Enjoy your trip. I would also suggest that you have your last will and testament all signed and legally processed. Enjoy your trip. Also make sure you have your cemetery and burial issues all paid up. Enjoy your trip.

My wife and I did 5 cruises since September 2021. Never even caught a cold, and came back feeling stronger with better food than at home and using the magnificent spacious gyms on top floor overlloking ocean waters ahead.

We Hindus never bury dead bodies. It is always cremation. No need for a cemetary.

Hhhmmmmmmm?

I think I’ll pass.

25 years ago my entire family (parents, spouses and children) took a Norwegian Cruise Lines trip to Bermuda from NYC. Unfortunately, our brave captain drove us right into Hurricane Eduardo resulting in three days of Hell, a broken neck (father), numerous cuts and scrapes, and wholesale abandonment of the NCL Dreamward at the dock in Hamilton.

There is no hell more profound than being trapped on on a ship at sea in the middle of a major storm.

You’re far more likely to catch something at home than on a cruise ship. Those ‘readings’ are nothing more than click-bait. Wife and I have taken nine cruise and have never caught a thing.

Wife and I are on Breakaway out of NOLA in March. CruiseCritic forum full of stories about NCL pricing being higher than normal and storie about how few rooms are available.

That's literally the most absurd thing I have ever read.

Went on an Alaskan cruise in September. Came back with Covid. Think we’ll travel on our own from now on.

It’s been years ago (2002 I think) since our only cruise. We sailed on a smaller ship (Norwegian Majesty) that I doubt is still in service. We had a fabulous time. Sailed from Charleston S.C. and made stops at Cozumel, Cayman Islands, and Key West. Hope your group has a blast.

If you can go a little earlier it might be much better.

The weather is more variable at the end of alaska cruise seaseon in sept. Even a week or two earlier might help

Yes, NCL prices are higher, but we are a bit bored using Carnival with mediocre quality ships. My wife researched different ships and she decided the younger people will have a blast on NCL Escape with some water events on ship, which I plan to avoid at all costs.

Although St Augustine is a good little resort town with lots of things to do, when the 2 daughters visit, we end up spending a lot of money visiting all the fancy restaurants and bars in town. The cruise is much easier with less driving, no food prep at home, no making beds and cleanups.
And I am counting on a couple of drinks smuggled in by the younger folks with their all you can drink beverage packages.
