by “the science” she means “the truth.” There is NO truth in science, only falsifiable theory, test and verify, then test some more. If the theory is not unprovable it is considered not a theory but a belief and is not science.
The only “influencer” is test and verify. There is no testing in environmental science, only belief. Influencers present beliefs, not theories.
If they own the science it is not science but dogma. They do in fact own the dogma.

Is there even “settled” science for most things? Yes, there are absolute truths but so many things - it seems to me - are more in the category of “what most of us agree we think so far”.
