I fed our son a vegetarian diet for his first two years and he had no health problems. When he decided he wanted to eat chicken, fish, and occasionally beef, as his father did, he was welcome to choose for himself. He grew up to be a champion athlete and very intelligent. We raised him to be open minded and independent. He still loves vegetarian food, but not exclusively, as I do.
I have no desire to be a vegan, but you definitely can follow a vegan diet and consume plenty of protein and fat, you just have to learn the facts.

This sweet, innocent little boy must’ve become so malnourished that he lost his appetite. When he didn’t eat for a week, these so-called parents should’ve taken him to a doctor. Did they believe he could live on air alone?
They probably didn’t take him to a doctor because they knew they’d lose custody of him and the two other children.
