Several decades ago, I got very interested in Bible prophesies and the topic of eschatology. I read many books on the subject and at the time, Bible prophesy books were being churned out by the boatload. There is nothing particularly wrong with Grant Jeffrey’s writing but all his (and similar) books were looking at current events and then going to the Bible to find pieces that matched.... “look here, this fits perfectly with what we are seeing right now.” What I was looking for were Bible expository books that looked further into the future to be able to predict what was going to happen. There was one which I recall was written in 1913 that went to some lengths to describe what Revelation 13:17 meant... I can’t recall for sure but if I had to guess, it might have been written by Henry Ironside. Anyway, the description went like this which I’ll paraphrase as best as I recall it...
The mark of the beast refers to something that gets inserted below the surface of one’s skin probably using a needle of some sort since the Greek word for ‘mark’ is ‘charagma’ which means ‘scratch or etching’. Also, the number 666 is a word in the original Greek which is ‘chi xi stigma’ with the last part, ‘stigma’ also meaning ‘to stick or prick.’ It would seem that this device that gets inserted has the ability to hold vast amounts of information that can be retrieved in some way without breaking the skin. Clearly this involves a future technology that doesn’t exist as of this writing.
Due to this being written over 100 years ago, the words microchip, scanning, wireless, computers, RFID etc didn’t exist but when I read this, I nearly fell off my chair with how precise this was described using only the language that existed at that time.
It is rather amazing how it’s all coming together just as The Lord said it would. I’m not shocked however.
I truly believe all of this will go down and wrap up in the next 10-15 years.
The rate at which technology continues to increase exponentially annually would suggest that we will eclipse the technology mentioned in the Book of Revelation by 2040.
Musk wants to colonize Mars and the Moon - none of that will ever happen if you believe Scripture. The countdown is close.
