Perhaps it is shallow and simplistic to draw parallels from the ancients. Maybe America’s best and brightest years are in the future. Who knows?

But what we do know is that over the last several decades the U.S. government has pursued many of the policies that brought past empires to ruin.

Military misadventures. Currency debasement. Growth and protection of an elite political class. Greater and greater encroachments on economic freedom, personal privacy, and individual liberty. The celebration of freaks and self-mutilation.

On balance, if the Roman state deserved collapse, shouldn’t the American state deserve collapse too?

‘Economic PRISM’ Blog! Sorry!

(Though ‘prison’ is apt, LOL!)

Yes, it is necessary for America to collapse, if it does not repent. You can only violate the natural law as to how God intended man to live only so far before you have run out of ways to avoid consequences.

I really do believe that God is using these moments to make it undebateable as to how we should live, so we will live as we should in eternity.

It hurts like a bugger now and I wish I didn’t have to face the consequences that I did not create, but it is for our own good in the end.

I remember reading in the Old Testament that God promised Israel that it would disappear as a nation and just be a rumour if it did not repent.

I believe that is how God handles all nations.

I hope that the Second Republic of the United States will do better. It should have fewer than 50 states.

I always laugh at leftists using “The Handmaid’s Tale” as an example of “rightwing tyrany.” Funny thing is that in order the premise to work, there has to be a totalitarian government in place. The same government the left is trying to force on all of us

If He hadn’t given us that double-edged sword of ‘Free Will’ and if Eve had behaved herself, we’d all still be living in Paradise.

But, that doesn’t teach anyone anything. ;)

The true CRIME here is how ‘We The People’ have LET Mother Government grow into the monster she is, today. I fear there is no turning back, though we could slow our demise.

Once Mother Government runs out of ‘Other People’s Money’ is when the REAL fun starts. :(

There is a bidenesque globalist cancer eroding the American nation from within.

America is an organization. Organizations don't repent, people repent.

And, in a country as large, diverse, and successful as America, only a small percentage have sufficient honesty, maturity, and humility to make them remotely capable of contrition.

And then there comes the question, to whom should they repent? Many haven't been introduced to God...yet

You and the Author agree, as do I.

“Government intervention into a nation’s economy is as foolish as attempting to control the earth’s temperature by law or force. Yet that doesn’t mean governments don’t meddle each and every day with the best – and worst – of intentions. The United States government is no exception.

Over the years, layers and layers of interference by various federal, state, and local agencies have built up like grime on a kitchen window. The grease shines and smells of something fierce. The layers of government grime also drip and ooze into every crack and crevice of the economy.

Gas prices. Food supply. Reliable energy. Currency debasement. Extreme taxation. And much, Much, More. Today, Washington chases collapse with special rigor.”

“Politicians merely appeased the masses through palliative programs of ‘bread and circuses.’”

Our modern version of bread and circuses is far beyond what the romans could even imagine as being possible. Imagine if the poorest romans were the most likely to be obese. And no one had to leave their climate-controlled dwelling to be passively entertained by an ubiquitous electronic screen culture.

Freegards

Yes, it is shallow and simplistic, primarily because technology has accellerated positive and negative effects so much.

Effects which took centuries previously now take years.

The biggest single difference is speed of transmission of information and control over the flow of information.

As the ability to transmit information has increased by several orders of magnitude, the ability to control it has also increased.

We already are collapsing. Grab a seat, and if you aren’t prepared for a month (+) of disruptions, it’s on you.

As a country, we can afford to bear a certain number of dumbasses and evil people and be fine. We’ve always had them, even when the country was founded.

However, when enough people have adopted unwise values, the accumulated weight of our dumbassery ensures our destruction eventually.

God told Israel to repent as a nation, so we, as a nation, have that same responsibility whether or not we can convince enough people to repent as individuals to avoid destruction.

Yes, Liberals are too evil and Conservatives too cowardly for this country to exist.

Yes, and God used Ishmael's descendants to punish them. Interesting how that Western Europe was ostensibly Christian but abandoned those principles years ago and now, are being overrun by ..... the descendants of Ishmael.

And they are here and they are gradually conquering American communities one at a time. When the Great Collapse occurs, I figure it'll be the ragheads fighting the wetbacks for the scraps.

One rarely mentioned reason for the fall of the Roman Empire is that its citizenry was wildly over-confident.

Rome was powerful, Rome was eternal. So there was no need for any course-correction. Rome always triumphed in the end, and would continue to do so.

Well, no. Rome’s luck finally ran out and the empire collapsed.

Most Americans feel the exact same way as those ancient Romans did. Big mistake.
