The first half of the 60's was really cool. Styles reflected the late 50's, with men's hats going out of style (due to JFK not wearing one). Women wore tasteful dresses with chic hairstyles. The Kennedys, Rob and Laura Petrie and James Bond are representative of the period.

By the late 60's, the hippie culture ruined the fashionable early 60's look. Men had wide lapels and longer hair with sideburns, women burned their bras and stopped wearing their elegant clothes. It was as if taste and culture were declining.

I went to kindergarten in 67 and our bus was equipped with an intercom playing music.

I clearly remember listening to Donovans Mellow Yellow and thinking how weird and spooky it was.
