Mask Mandates Caused MORE COVID Deaths, Study Alleges.

The bombshell claims will open a new avenue of inquiry into the public health response to the COVID pandemic.

Mask mandates caused higher COVID-19 death rates, according to the bombshell claims made in a new medical journal report analyzing fatality rates across the state of Kansas.

The observational study – “The Foegen Effect: A Mechanism by Which Facemasks Contribute to the COVID-19 Case Fatality Rate” – was published in Medicine in February 2022, authored by German doctor Zacharias Fögen.

The paper analyzed “whether mandatory mask use influenced the case fatality rate in Kansas” during the time period of August 1st, 2020 to October 15th. Kansas was used for comparison because the state allowed each of its 105 counties to decide whether or not to implement mask mandates, with 81 counties deciding against the measure.

“The most important finding from this study is that contrary to the accepted thought that fewer people are dying because infection rates are reduced by masks, this was not the case,” summarized the paper.

“Results from this study strongly suggest that mask mandates actually caused about 1.5 times the number of deaths or ∼50% more deaths compared to no mask mandates.”

The study also posited a potential reason for the disparity in risk ratio (RR) for dying from COVID-19:

“A rationale for the increased RR by mandating masks is probably that virions that enter or those coughed out in droplets are retained in the facemask tissue, and after quick evaporation of the droplets, hypercondensed droplets or pure virions (virions not inside a droplet) are re-inhaled from a very short distance during inspiration.”

Dubbed the “Foegen effect,” the theory suggests that COVID-19 “virions spread (because of their smaller size) deeper into the respiratory tract.”

It really makes sense....If you got it...the mask would increase the chances of replicating it since it was not mixing with fresh air.

This makes actual sense. It is said very well here. Everything people were told or forced to do made matters worse.

That was no accident because we were told we were in the hands of “experts”.

Where is here?

I went for ice cream last night with the Mrs. We both laughed that there were two stupid liberal men(older men with pony tails) that were standing in line OUTSIDE with masks on.
It was 70 degrees and sunny.

That's just the Covid virus, what about all the other germs and viruses you exhale and incubate in the mask?

We knew two older woman who were habitual mask wearers. They even wore them when they were home alone. Both were very, very afraid of getting Covid. They did not live together or even spend time together, but both came down with pneumonia. Each were told by their doctors that to stop wearing the masks 24/7. Neither of them took their doctor’s advice. Both of them are now dead. I doubt that they are the only ones who had negative consequences from excessive mask wearing.

O.K., it suggests that while wearing the mask the wearer either (a) already had a Covid19 infection or (b) got the Covid19 infection, and in either case continued wearing the mask post-infection for some time, thearby, via repetition of exposure to active virus in the mask, increased the total viral load being received.

In the case where the wearer was not already infected, there may have been exposure to the virus from someone else, but it would have been a single exposure, instead of repeated contact with active virus elements in the mask, and thus the total viral load they were exposed to was likely less than if they had a mask on; according to the theory in the study.

But, I am not sure that the effect is materially the same in the case of someone who already has an ongoing active Covid19 infection in their system. Does the theory suggest that in their case the already active infection gets worse?

Even here in looney California very few people are wearing masks except employees of some large corporations who still demand it.

What shows how bad the behavioral propaganda was, in how successfully it worked on some people, is demonstrated by the occasional lone individual, walking all by themselves down a quiet residential street, with no one in sight to make contact with, and they are wearing a mask.

A saw an older gentleman walking like that yesterday. And he was walking with some difficulty. I wanted to stop (I was on my bike) and try to kindly and politely tell him that he didn’t need the mask on and he’d be breathing better without it. Then I thought maybe he’d just tell me to mind my own business, so I just rode on by. It’s really a shame what the behavioral propoganda has done to so many people.

It is a similar situation where we are at, but here it is more like 30% wearing masks in most locations. I was at a Rotary Club meeting the other day. Thankfully it was at a restaurant and well attended, only a couple dozen people were “participating” through the Zoom meeting which was projected on a big screen.

When I first arrived I habitually tried to shake an old guys hand and he pulled it away from me and put it in his pocket. I apologized and said that I forgot about the Covid thing. Then others arrived and we were all shaking hands as usual. There were about 3 people who were wearing masks and mostly staying away from others. I felt a little sorry for them.

It seems to me like most people who are testing positive for Covid currently have a little cough. They are told to isolate for a few days and then go back to work regardless of whether or not their cough has gone away. The vast majority seem to have been fully vaccinated and boosted.

Covid is now endemic, meaning that it is basically everywhere. Wearing a mask is less than worthless. It does not protect the wearer or those around them.

The people that really mystify me are people out riding bikes in high wind and still wearing masks... not very bright.

Yes, the virus particles present get concentrated & inhaled deeper.
The articles says that virus particles that enter the mask, and since masks are permeable to virus size particles any particles in the air do enter, and virus particles exhaled by the person are concentrated in the mask and transmitted to deeper areas of the lung then they would be w/o the mask. Particles in those deeper areas are more likely to cause pneumonia viral or bacterial.

Canadian, eh?

FWIW, in Alberta, masks are required on public transit. Perhaps 60% of riders wear masks. As I take public transit to work, and wear specific clothing that would ID my employer, I have to wear the ‘facial diaper’ on transit. When I am not wearing identifiable clothing, I do not wear the mask.

Yes, I was in Cabo San Lucas in April. All the employees of the hotels were wearing masks.
I felt bad for them.
Especially, based on what those people earn working at those hotels.

Wow. Now there is a story with a moral.

It seemed similar to an eating disorder. Neither of them could be without their masks even after both were told not to wear them any more by their doctors.

The most similar thing that I have personally been involved with are people who decide not to eat anything other than meat and eventually start paying the consequences. One guy we knew started having cardiac and other problems; his doctor told him his diet was to blame. He of course knew better and even after his wife prepared meals for him that were recommended by a nutritionist and begged him to eat a more balanced diet he would not change a thing.

Before he got mixed up with the no/low carb high protein diet he had been very active and no more overweight than most other men his age.
