Who surrendered to whom?
Ukrainians to Russians. This was the bastion of the Azov Battalion, there were likely others.
This war needs to be over soon or millions will starve.
This is Ukrainian government aligned troops surrendering to Russian aligned troops in Mariupol. They are being detained in Russian controlled territory in eastern Ukraine. I read one report that some of the Azov soldiers were instead moved to Rostov (actually part of Russia) but I don’t know if it is accurate. Some of them are wounded and being treated in a hospital.
Yeah. It would more clear if they used the Cyrillic alphabet.
The Ukes in the steel plant have surrendered to the Russians. Most are Azov types so I doubt they will be going home any time soon.

It is NOT a surrender, it is a withdraw/redeployment.
(just ignore the white flags, no weapons, and walking over to Russian lines)
