You aren’t lying. In 2010, during the height of that mess, a family friend invited my mom and myself to Gulf Shores for a few days. I’ve always loved to wade and swim in the Gulf (close to the shore, of course).
The oil was still everywhere, but my friend and I said “screw it” and went into the water. We couldn’t stand to be at the beach and not enjoy the water. Of course, access to the Gulf was closed around half of the time we were at Gulf Shores. We just made sure to shower throughly at the outdoor showers at the Condo in order to wash any oil off of us.
It was a fun trip but, as you stated, residents of Gulf Coast states are still angry at BP.
RIP to our friend who invited us and was generous enough to pay for the very large Condo.

Ah, it says not “when the police tackled him” but this:

So he must have self-inflicted his injuries before or after they tackled him? Sounds like he was out of control anyway. Threw himself on the ground? Punched himself? Just because he was crazed? So he could try to claim police brutality? Who knows? If it was all caught on camera, the cops couldn’t get away with lying about it, surely.,
So confusing. These so-called journalists can’t write for beans these days.
