We actually did, sort of. The United States intervened militarily during the Russian Civil War, and fought the Bolsheviks. It didn’t go so well. This little piece of history is rarely taught in the US, but many Russians know about it.

What were we thinking? That is number one rule. Never fight in Russia. It cannot be done. No one can survive the winter except for the Russians.
Yup. The US Army’s 339th. Infantry Regiment was sent into Russia.
Worse yet the had to use Russian made Moisin-Nagat rifles.
