DeSantis Signs New Congressional Map, Legislation Removing Disney Special District and Stop Woke Education Bill
The Conservative Treehouse - The Last Refuge ^ | April 22, 2022 | | Sundance

Posted on 04/22/2022 2:09:54 PM PDT by E. Pluribus Unum

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signs today: (1) the new FL congressional map that creates four new GOP leaning districts; (2) a bill to remove Disney’s special districting exemption status; and (3) the “Stop Woke Act,” a bill banning discrimination, woke indoctrination and Critical Race Theory in schools, universities, and corporations.

Do not miss the context for these events today, because both the venue and the participants tell a story. The public event was held in Hialeah Gardens, Florida, a predominantly Latino community. Standing alongside DeSantis was Lieutenant Governor Jeanette Nuñez and a host of Latino political officials.

All of the sentiment surrounding the Disney gender and sexuality confrontation, in combination with the Woke Act effort are widely supported by the Hispanic and Latino communities in Florida. Traditional family values are strong in the Latino community. This has been an ongoing issue for the Democrat party overall, and in 2022 the leftists in the party have ostracized the overwhelming majority of the Latino vote.

Well that didn't take long! Hats off to the governor.

What's so hard to understand about that if it isn't appropriate to discuss in a workplace setting, then it isn't appropriate to discuss with young children?

And on the seventh day he rested.

If DeSantis can keep away from the knee jerk Bush era neo-con garbage he will be a driving force for those of us who left the McCain/Romney republican party

I really like this guy. He says he’s going to something and he does it, without any lollygagging or excuses. He’s my pick for 2024.

Agreed. Let Trump do his thing through this November, but DeSantis is the one for 2024.

That man has a GIGANTOR YUGE ENORMOUS SET OF BALLZ ON HIM.

Shame other “Republican” Governors(Kemp, Abbott, Ivey, McMaster, Stitr, Noem….basically all the rest) are too chicken-sh*t to do what he’s doing. If they did, all of this nonsense stops. And more importantly, I’m thinking the radical left invasion of the “Red States” comes to an end. They’ll all go limping back to the dumps they created.

The next step should be to Revoke Disney’s Corporate Charter because they are harmful to children.

He may have just passed up PDJT as the left’s Public Enemy #1.

Fortunately, I believe DeSantis knows exactly what’s coming and is fully prepared for it.

One of them would need to switch to another state for residence.

Concur. People foolishly throwing Trump under the bus.

“Concur. People foolishly throwing Trump under the bus.”

No, they see a more skillful politician.
Trump was great but he was great in spite of his flaws. Desantis has fewer flaws.

Not the least of Trump’s flaws was underestimating the amount of treachery within his own party. I believe DeSantis would make better cabinet choices and better Supreme court choices. Less time would be wasted on rhetoric because Desantis knows how to turn the demonrat propaganda around better than Trump. Trump should continue his rallies, and setting the table.

I am proud to have voted for Trump’s reelection (I couldn’t the first time because I lived on Guam which isn’t a state.) But DeSantis is the better guy for 2024. We need to hammer a stake through the demonrat party and Desantis has a bigger hammer. If Trump wanted to do some real good, he should primary Rubio.

Who is moving out of Florida before 2024? DeSantis or Trump?
