Happy Friday, dear Kruiser Morning Briefing friends. Cranberries in a tophat are a delight known only to the people of the plains.
Today we’re hitting some things that I’d rather not have to write about, yet feel that I must. The future of this great country is at stake, after all.
We had a couple of “senior moment” stories yesterday involving people in the upper echelons of power in this country. It’s not pretty, but it can’t be ignored. Those of us here on the reality-based side of the aisle are duty-bound to acknowledge when things are amiss.
The first story involves Senator Dianne Feinstein of California, who it often seems has been in the Senate since Andrew Jackson was president. Actually, she has been in office since winning a special election in 1992.
It would appear that the senior — no pun intended — senator from the Golden State is not quite as sharp as she used to be, which Robert Spencer wrote about yesterday:

What was once known as the public service has become so remunerative that it’s no wonder that politicians are clutching to power as they never have before in American history. Washington is now top-heavy with the Geritol set, and it doesn’t look as if that’s going to change anytime soon.

The problem isn’t that she’s 88 and demented. The problem is that she keeps getting reelected.
Unfortunately it’s not disqualifying and there is nothing that can be done to force her to resign or keep her from voting.
We’ve got that bag of crap fossil in Iowa, Grassley. Hope they both go to hell soon.

Unlike Biden, Feinstein is deemed expendable. Her seat is 100% safe for the Dems. If anything, it would be an opportunity to replace her with someone more extreme.
I read an article a few years back about the House Pharmacy (they get free RX’s) and the enormous number of psych meds delivered to our esteemed political Hires. I’ve since tried to dig up that article, to no avail.
Indeed, Newsome will replace her with another Kamala Harris type. I weep for my beautiful state.
Think about Edward Kennedy or John McCain. It is all about them. They think they are indispensable. They now know otherwise.
Should the Democrats retain control of the Senate in November, she will be next in line of Presidential succession as President Pro Tempore of the Senate after Harris and Pelosi (should Democrats hold House). Leahy current President Pro Tempore is retiring.
Even more than an age limit, we need term limits.
Totalitarian monsters always hang on the the bitter end. They suspect what’s in store for them. Can you smell the Sulphur yet, Dianne?
