There was a manhole explosion Sunday afternoon in Times Square New York City.

Security cameras caught the explosion that started a stampede.

Yup, it was pretty foul. I’ve run into one person in my life who could not get through a sentence without using the f-bomb at least once. Must be pretty sad to not be able to express yourself without using foul language.

Last video at the link you can hear the boom. Pretty loud. Then the woman runs away saying ,”WTF was that?, WTF, WTF, WTF, WTF...”

It's pretty easy for everyone to step up and point the finger at the "weak" NYers, but it's a safe bet that in Times Square on the weekend, almost everyone in the crowd is from out of town; this video would make that case.

(And I don't think anyone watching this would blame the young woman for running until she knew what the cause of the explosion was; an explosion is an explosion.)

I make no secret of my loathing for NYC.
As a kid forced to visit there, the hordes of city dwellers in their mega story anthillls and the filth shocked me. I wondered at the enormous sewage load from that place. Incomprehensible to a kid.

Sewer gas explosions from those millions of city dwellers has to be a concern. Pranksters should drop lighted matches down the sewer grates for fun.
