Even if it's not legal, there are many ways to abuse legal process to great effect. I think an indictment on bogus charges is a give. Congress carried out two bogus impeachment trials, and there is no evidence that the DOJ and its minions are above politics - in fact, the opposite. FBI and DOJ deliberately hamstrung Trump, including appointment of a special counsel without predicate.
