Another convoy has joined with the original group bringing with it 60 trucks and other vehicles. They are pulling out of Hagerstown now to encircle DC once again while organizers are meeting with Ron Johnson and Ted Cruz to demand the end of the national covid emergency.

Not sure the convoy will have much effect on the normally gridlocked DC Beltway. Its slow all the time.
Too bad they’re not calling for impeachment of Joek & Company. Now the powers that be have another distraction...war. And they’ll blame all their problems on it.

I’d prefer the convoy officially demand investigations into covid crimes against humanity like Rep. Chip Roy has.
Now they need to start making runs through town. Not stopping, not doing anything illegal, just sight seeing. Maybe run in 395, or 50, or 1...
First day, maybe make the through-town run mid morning, just after morning rush and through just before lunchtime craziness.
Next day, snarl up lunch. Next day, snarl up morning rush. Next day, snarl up evening rush - really make them mad when they can't get home.
I've driven in and around DC. It doesn't take much to screw up traffic. Even just one person tapping their brakes a couple of times for no good reason can send ripples through miles of traffic. It makes a bunch of impatient fools get in the left lane(s) and stay there. All trying to "go fast" when they're not really going any faster than the nearly empty right lane.
When I used to run around there, there were 3 distinct traffic patterns. Rush hour, which was basically all lanes bumper to bumper with random slowdowns, stops, and accelerations. Relatively open, which really only happened middle of the night and very brief periods mid morning and mid afternoon. And then heavy - where most people jammed up the left lanes wanting to go faster but really were not.
convoy is being very measured.
Organizer keeps using the words - not yet - when talking about avoiding creating a major disruption.

CHANGE OF PLANS! They’re doing a 2nd run on the beltway!
The convoy has completed their 2nd loop are now returning to the raceway. DOT conveniently blocked the front of the convoy and shut down all eastbound traffic at the SE corner of the beltway to do a vehicle recovery. They repositioned a stalled vehicle which was not part of the convoy from the center median to the right side. Coincidence?

DC is bad anyway, but they need to make more of an impact. Not seeing much impact. Too few, not using trailers, and being too “cooperative”. That’s not going to do anything.
I prefer the idea of “shutting things down” especially around the government buildings. A`la Canada.
This is going to be a nothing-burger. Lots of big talk but not really any beef. A “show of support” on overpasses and just from in-and-out truckers over the country is not going to cut it.
