The US oil companies that were importing Russian oil already switched out over a week ago and replaced that supply from other energy producing nations. Biden is a day late and a dollar short with his ban which he is now doing for political optics. Unfortunately, he was looking to replace that Russian oil with Venezuelan oil, anything but Canadian oil or, heaven forbid, oil fracked in the US. In his little mind, our enemies make safer oil than we do.
Agree this is eyewash.
Oil is a semi-fungible commodity.
The Russian oil will find a buyer somewhere.
I suspect the ChiComs will purchase all they can send.
