This is why I have been struggling on what to do with my estate. Odds are I am going to croak soon enough. I have no immediate family to leave it to. I have a couple of ne’er do well 2nd cousins whom would make a mockery out of my lifetime of sacrifice by drinking and drugging themselves to death if a huge chunk of cash and property suddenly drops on them. I originally set up the trust to benefit a friend who literally disappeared the day I had a stroke. I would like to feel that my time on this planet wasn’t a cosmic waste of time and would like to at least have the comfort that somebody somewhere’s life was helped, but after a few previous attempts to either give to charity even going as far as volunteering on medical missions to africa, that most charities are simply money laundering schemes for the DNC.
