One of my FB friends suggested that SNL should call up President Trump and ask him to play Baldwin STAT!
As a 9 year old, I got my first “gun”, a Daisy BB rifle.
My dad taught me three rules about using that and all other guns to follow
1) Always assume the gun is loaded,
2) Never point a gun at some one unless you intend to kill them.
3) Always assume a gun is loaded (a double check on No.1).
The question is not whether it is safe to use real weapons in the movies. The question is whether anything – from a handgun to a ballot – is safe in the hands of someone who is willfully unamerican.
America has gone far adrift from the course our Founders set for us. We need to return to the path; this tragic incident is just one more in a thousand examples.
Powerful conclusion!
*EVERY* gun is loaded. *ALL* the time. Unless I see a cylinder out of battery, it’s cocked and locked as far as anyone I am training had better be treat it.
Of course, what can you expect from Hollywood libs?
” allegedly killed a cinematographer and injured the director, by firing a loaded gun directly at them during the making of a western movie called “Rust” on a remote film set in New Mexico.”
Allegedly?
That’s a model 1848 Colt “Dragoon” pistol, that the Daily Mail somehow dug up, but at least put the disclaimer “this isn’t the actual gun used...”. The more likely pistol would have been a Colt Single Action Army revolver 1872 model, which does accept a metallic cartridge. The Mail is probably goofed up here.
In any event, Baldwin has benefited from people finding excuses for his behavior, which isn’t appropriate, imho. He’s not some callow youth, he’s been in the business for decades, has been briefed and trained on gun handling, and simply had to know that his behavior was unacceptable.
You simply don’t point a real gun at another human on set. The safety briefings are clear on that point: the director and the camera department head set up the shot to give whatever appearance the story needs without actually pointing a gun at someone.
There has been confusion about blanks as well. The first rule applies: you don’t point a gun you believe to be unloaded at another person. You certainly don’t point a gun you believe to be loaded with blanks at another person.
Baldwin knew this. He didn’t care. He’s special. And in a sane world, he would be held criminally liable for his negligence.
What is your point displaying misleading information?
That was my first thought but now leaning toward"
Other stories say it was a real pistol that some of the crew were using for target practice during off hours/off days. They also say the victims were hit with a live round. So, hard to reconcile the accounts.
It’s a rare article that offers a fresh insight into something no one else has covered. Thanks for posting.

As producer.
As actor, Involuntary Manslaughter.
Wait. I said that wrong. I meant:
It’s a rare article that offers a fresh insight into something everyone else has written about. Thanks for posting.
Of course Baldwin, being an anti-gun extremist, is not going to know the first thing about gun safety. To hand him a real gun is almost criminal.
Using words such as “allegedly” are often used in the media, if someone hasn’t been convicted of a crime. Yes sadly that woman is actually dead, but we don’t yet have a legally approved explanation for why she is dead. So they will say Baldwin allegedly shot her.
I believe this needs to be referred to as “The Baldwin Massacre”
you might be right
media is not good at getting actual guns correct, they often throw amphoto up of a different gun that is being discussed
no he knows
that’s why its negligence at the very least
he’s used blank firing guns across multiple movies since 1990, he’s had the safety talks all the way through
he can’t claik ignorance
That’s a beauty!
Bunch of gun nerds on this forum!
As to the charges, states use different terminology, and I have no idea what the law in New Mexico says. It’s probable that there was no “malice aforethought” as California uses the term, so he didn’t “mean to kill her”. But he recklessly showed no regard at all for the well being of the people he aimed at. If you or I had done that, we’d be in custody, and rightly so.
He’s getting a pass in the media for who he is, imho.
