The armorer should be the first one charged; Baldwin was the idiot who aimed and shot but then, why should he know if there was a real round in it?

It would have behooved him to hire a competent armorer. At some point, you have to be confident that when you’re handed a “cold weapon” that it is cold. Otherwise, everyone handling the weapon should empty it and start over. Requiring everyone to be familiar with the manual of arms for each firearm is a bit much.

Baldwin the actor may be in the clear, legally. Baldwin the producer is in hot water.

If anyone is charged criminally, it will the armorer to throw her under the bus. Baldwin will skate, probably will to an out of court settlement with the family to keep it quite.

Perhaps INSTEAD of condemning guns and gun owners, Alec Baldwin should have learned BASIC gun safety! The REALITY is that he pointed a loaded gun at a person and PULLED THE TRIGGER! That is NO “misfire”, the firearm WORKED AS DESIGNED. HE failed to CHECK to ENSURE that it was unloaded. I’ll bet he did not even know HOW to CLEAR it.
