It's not like Gandhi, MLK, or St George Fentanyl Floyd were leadership options for us when we broke away from England. It was either Jefferson (and other founding fathers) or King George.
If NYC removes Jefferson, it will be a tragedy and the result of abysmal ignorance.
There have been many men in the history of the world with the character of a Washington, the creative thought of a Franklin, and the monumental intelligence of a Jefferson; but I can’t think of a country where so many of those came together at one crucial moment in time to irrevocably change the course of the world for the better.
