It infects the GI, that’s always been known but is generally not severe there.
But it is transmitted that way via fecal-oral/nasal trace amounts.
It’s the main way it’s transmitted which is why elderly homes with lots of incontinence are the hotbed of the epidemic and has been from day one.
Hand washing and wiping surfaces is the best means to attenuate spread.
One would think that with all of the Covid sanitation going on, that nary a surface would be unwashed to spread other diseases.
Yet it spreads.
Could it be that nursing homes are not the sanitary centers that they purport to be?
