Surerendering freedom to the government for security by the government is merely exchanging one tyranny for another. Neither returns your freedom once they have it in their power. Maybe that’s why the founders called them unalienable rights?
“Maybe that’s why the founders called them unalienable rights?”
Almost. Rights are legal, social, or ethical principles of freedom or entitlement; that is, rights are the fundamental normative rules about what is allowed of people or owed to people according to some legal system, social convention, or ethical theory. Which ever one you are using at the moment.
But because these “rights” are subject to removal, they are not rights, they are privileges. The last right on earth was to be alive and that starts in the womb. But with the abortion laws and their inconsistent determination of when life starts, can life ever be determined. Or even defined as it is denied. So, it’s like a subsection of a race of people. It could be there as a right, but it can be taken way, so it isn’t. Leave it to man.
