I don’t think they can install a VP without 51 votes in the senate. I could be wrong.

Its not so much of a question of being wrong or right when the constitution and our laws don’t seem to matter to one side. They don’t abide by constraints. They do pretty much whatever they want.
With RINO traitors like Lisa Murkowski, Mitt Romney and others, getting 51 votes is guaranteed.
“I don’t think they can install a VP without 51 votes in the senate”
You are correct. How many Republicans do you believe would vote against Newsom? 5? 7?
And that means the Senate would be at a 50-50 deadlock, theoretically.
You are correct. But they only need to flip a single Vichy Republican like Romney.
The new PORTUS nominates a VP, and both Houses must pass via simple majority.
25nd Amendment, Section 2.
You're absolutely right. And the Dems lose their ability to break ties in their favor the second Kamala becomes President. The Senate is 50-50 at that point, and I suspect the GOP may not confirm a new VP as long as that tie exists.
Throws an unanticipated monkey wrench into the Dems' plan to have Biden resign partway through his term because that means they'd lose Senate control.
Correct, Senate approval required.
Gerald Ford comes to mind. (Michigan senator).
Newsome would never get 51 votes....nope!
The recall vote is required by law, can’t cancel it by resigning. It’s the administration that’s being recalled.
Both chambers must approve
You arae correct, there must be a majority of senators to confirm. If the GOP closes ranks and refuse to confirm a VP, then the destruction of our country will not go forward. But, alas, Romney, Lindsey, Murkowski, et al, will graciously reach across the aisle and confirm Harris’ appointee, and again the feckless reckless GOP betrays us.
