I’m sure fought over, but there is one really obvious thing that should be noticed about comorbidities.
PA released a list of those comorbidities that were most common in covid deaths. It went something like this:
1) Dementia
2) Diabetes
3) Hypertension
The obvious reality is those are age correlated. 75% of 65+ population has hypertension. Diabetes a bit more rare, but still most common in the elderly. And obviously dementia ditto.
Point being, it’s not comorbidities. It’s age, because the old often have those issues. Hypertension being the most common.
Transplant recipients are at risk regardless of age due to immunosuppressants use.
Age and / or comorbidity may be contributing factors in death due to a coronavirus. Medications taken for (or contributing to) the comorbidity could also be a factor.
