Why would you vaccinate children which have a 99%+ survival rate? Furthermore, wouldn’t this wreak havoc on a young and healthy immune system?
The problem with private social credit is not that it’s up to the individual business, but if that business is large enough, it can try to strongarm its suppliers into adopting that social credit as well, on pain of them being cut off. Likewise, a large distributor or supplier, like Amazon, can strongarm a small business into adopting its social credit, on pain of effectively tanking that business.
Thus, a vaccine passport is still troubling, even if THE GOVERNMENT doesn’t require it. De Santis is spot on.
I think the checkpoints were basically retaliation against states - like New York - that tried to blame Florida and Florida travel for “the virus.” If you were coming from a nearby state like GA, they waved you through, and much of the time they were closed anyway. In other words, it was sort of a PR stunt meant to make it clear that Florida was not the source and that it was “taking precautions.”

The COVID-19 checkpoint at the Florida weigh station on Interstate 95 below the Georgia state line, the bane of southbound drivers who were stuck in the traffic jams it caused, shut down with no notice.
The state didn’t tell anyone; it just scooped up the big orange traffic control barrels on July 17 and let traffic flow.
FDOT spokeswoman Beth Frady said a news alert about the removal was not needed, even though the agency alerted the news media in June 5 emails and social media that the I-10 checkpoint at the Florida/Alabama state line had been removed.
“The deactivation did not impact traffic within the area, so a traffic advisory was not necessary,“ she said on Monday. ”... The reduction in the need for the checkpoint allows for the redirection of valuable resources from the Department of Health and other agencies for other uses throughout the state.“
I don’t think so. I don’t think business want to be forced to choose between one half of their customers and the other. But they are forced to, just as we are all forced to wear the useless masks, practice the useless “social distancing”, and deal with all of the other nonsense, for a lie. The reality is that if business actually felt free to require or not require masks and the distancing and the incredibly stupid floating plexiglas everywhere, you’d have some business that would go one way, and some that would go the other (and the few that have tried to go the other way, have been immediately hammered by the government). So almost all businesses go with what the state wants, because they don’t want to be fined or shut down, and because they know the government will support anyone who sues a “non-compliant” business, claimIng that they caught the super scary ultra deadly COVID in that place of business.
But I don't see anyone forcing or even encouraging businesses to require a vaccine passport. This is being driven by consumers.
I know for a fact many that people want evidence they've been vaccinated so they can travel to places that require it. And it's a legitimate role of government to provide that proof if the people ask for it.

Maybe, but I think they do what makes their customers feel most comfortable. Now, their customers may be responding to what the government recommends but the businesses are just trying to get clients in the door.

If that’s the case, then ... hooray for Florida! NYS did everything wrong so it’s good that someone made them hurt a bit.

They ask to see some documentation - like your passport. Although a big retailer like Target would probably just go honor system.
No, but they have the right to ask you if you’ve been vaccinated before you enter their property. You don’t have to answer or get vaccinated, but they have the right to ask you not to enter if you refuse.
So, then they also have the right to ask if you are homosexual or Muslim, and deny you entry? My medical history/condition is private. Pound sand.
