The state owned media is actively promoting disinformation

It is no secret that the MFM and the DNC are in total lockstep. It's been that way for some time and became especially egregious during the Trump administration.  Over the last 6 years the MFM has engaged in a chronic disinformation campaign targeting Donald Trump. It began with Russian collusion, went on with Ukraine accusations and culminated in accusations of inciting a riot.

But as I said, it continues.

There is someone named Jonathan Lemire who is an MSNBC commentator and AP White House "correspondent" who has a problem with the truth. You need to listen for no more than about 30 seconds when he says:

"in June these were non-violent protesters"
and
"there was no violence there"
during the June George Floyd riots in DC.

Beg your pardon.

During those "nonviolent" protests some interesting things transpired.

Historic St. John’s Church Set Ablaze In DC As Another Night Of Riots Engulfs Country

Another night of violent chaos engulfed the country as historic St. John’s Episcopal Church was set ablaze Sunday night, one of several fires set near the White House.

Demonstrations across the country turned violent yet again as activists set cars ablaze in Washington, D.C. and looted businesses across the country in protest of the death of George Floyd, a black man who died after a Minneapolis, Minnesota police officer knelt on his neck for several minutes, according to video of the incident.

The Washington Post:

Night of destruction across D.C. after protesters clash with police outside White House

The third day of protests in the nation’s capital over George Floyd’s death began with bent knees, raised fists and pleas that this night, unlike the last, would remain peaceful. And in those first moments on Sunday, the more than 1,000 people who marched to Lafayette Square across from the White House listened.

Then came darkness, and with it, another night of mayhem. In the park, protesters faced the familiar pop, pop, pop of pepper bullets and stinging clouds of tear gas meant to push back hundreds of them as they tried, again and again, to break through the police barricades set up around President Trump’s home.

Later, American flags and parked cars and buildings were lit ablaze — including St. John’s Church, a historic landmark opened in 1816 and attended by every president since James Madison. Firefighters quickly extinguished the basement fire, which police said was intentionally set.

The "third night" of non-violence saw more than 300 were arrested.
Newsham: 300+ arrests in DC after Monday's protests

WASHINGTON — More than 300 people, a majority of whom for violating the curfew, were arrested Monday night across the District, officials said Tuesday morning. This comes after the fourth day of demonstrations in D.C. over the killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis.

Metropolitan Police Department Chief Peter Newsham said the arrests were made for a three primary reasons: Violation of curfew, burglary and rioting.

The arrests were all made after multiple warnings, and Newsham explained some arrests were made to prevent extreme violence and destruction that occurred the previous nights during protests.

Two officers were injured, one police car was set on fire, and some property destruction, including smashed glass and graffitti, were also reported, Newsham said.

The New York Times flat out lied about it.

That's only the tip of the iceberg. The disinformation from the state media is approaching flood stage.

Armed Insurrection

There was no armed insurrection. democrats lied about it and the media runs with it. As Glenn Greenwald correctly observes, this is about consolidating power and depriving conservatives of their rights:

Perhaps the most significant blow to the maximalist insurrection/coup narrative took place inside the Senate on Thursday. Ever since January 6, those who were not referring to the riot as a “coup attempt” — as though the hundreds of protesters intended to overthrow the most powerful and militarized government in history — were required to refer to it instead as an “armed insurrection.”

This formulation was crucial not only for maximizing fear levels about the Democrats’ adversaries but also, as I’ve documented previously, because declaring an “armed insurrection” empowers the state with virtually unlimited powers to act against the citizenry. Over and over, leading Democrats and their media allies repeated this phrase like some hypnotic mantra:

There's no border crisis

Biden's DHS secretary Alejandro Mayorkas declared there is no crisis at the Southern border so the media repeatedly declares there is no crisis at the border. Dude, that was, like, last week. Today? HELP!

This, of course, goes unreported in the state media. BTW, the Biden regime forbids senior officials from speaking freely.

The Communists at the FIB and CYA admitted PLANTING bogus “Russia Russia Russia” stories to further their spying on the Trump campaign. And the MSM has been complicit in those lies.

Excellent piece!!!

“The argument then, and the argument now, is that the threat was being deliberately inflated and exaggerated, and fears stoked and exploited, both for political gain and to justify the placement of more and more powers in the hands of the state in the name of stopping these threats. That is the core formula of authoritarianism — to place the population in a state of such acute fear that it acquiesces to any assertion of power which security state agencies and politicians demand and which they insist are necessary to keep everyone safe.”

Spot on.

And from the comments (which are 90% excellent, just a couple trolls):

StanislavPetrovMar 5
It was plain to see on January 6th, to everyone with even a modicum of intelligence and a passing affinity for reality, that what took place was a riot carried out by a hodgepodge of Trump supporters and others with a variety of grievances. By every conceivable metric (duration, property damage, violent assaults), this riot was much less severe than the dozens of riots that occurred (to the cheers of the same media pundits of elected Democrats decrying the January 6th riot) throughout 2020. Indeed, most of the “casualties” from the riot occurred because the participants were so infirm and elderly they were dropping from heart attacks and strokes.

It was clear from the beginning that the powers-that-be, however, were going to milk this riot for everything they could. The subtle shift in lies surrounding the narrative woven by our Dear Leaders in the days following the riot were important. They very quickly shifted from blaming Trump himself to blaming, “right wing extremists” and “white supremacy”. This was a very telling shift, as well as being critical to their strategy. If the source of the problem was Trump (or any specific, identifiable source), then the crisis could eventually be resolved. Trump could be jailed or otherwise eliminated from the scene, and the crisis would be resolved, with all “emergency” powers relinquished. But that isn’t the goal. Like the “war on drugs” or the “war on terror”, a war against a slogan or an idea has no achievable victory conditions. How can we know when the war against “white supremacy” has been won? How do we know what freedoms are necessary to sacrifice in order to win the war against “dangerous ring-wing extremists”? Who are these enemies? What does one have to do or say to be considered a domestic terrorist who is so dangerous that they cannot be afforded legal or Constitutional rights? What speech is so dangerous that it cannot be allowed?

These things are all undefined and unknowable by design. There are no powers that cannot be claimed, no person that cannot be silenced, no end to the “emergency” that requires this totalitarianism. Even raising questions about the reality “emergency” itself denotes one as someone who probably harbors sympathy for “the enemy” (as evidenced by the treatment received regularly by Greenwald).

Unfortunately, those feebleminded enough to believe that “our very democracy” is at stake and threatens to be toppled by an unhinged mob of racist Trump supporters that want to sow nationwide destruction, are all in. For them, this is an existential threat, where the ends justify the means. Even those with the capacity to perceive a sliver of objective reality and see through some of the lies, see those lies as inconsequential (or even justified and necessary!). After all, if a false narrative about an officer being beaten to death with a fire extinguisher can rally support in the war against evil, right-wing, white-supremacists whose divisions are laying in wait, ready to take over the country, is that really a bad thing?

Many have described the rise of Trump as the “post-truth era”. Unfortunately they didn’t know how accurate that was.”
