We all know that something morally grotesque is swallowing liberal America. Almost no one wants to risk talking about it out loud.
Every day I get phone calls from anxious Americans complaining about an ideology that wants to pull all of us into the past. I get calls from parents telling me about the damaging things being taught in schools: so-called antiracist programs that urge children to obsess on the color of their skin. I get calls from people working in corporate America forced to go to trainings in which they learn that they carry collective, race-based guilt — or benefit from collective, race-based virtue. I get calls from young people just launching their careers telling me that they feel they have no choice but to profess fealty to this ideology in order to keep their jobs. Almost no one who calls me is willing to go public. And I understand why. To go public with what’s happening is to risk their jobs and their reputations.
But the hour is very late. It calls for courage. And courage has come in the form of a woman named Jodi Shaw.
Jodi Shaw is a divorced mother of two children, a lifelong liberal and an alumna of the college.
In October 2020, after Shaw felt that she had exhausted all her internal options, she posted a video on YouTube, blowing the whistle on, what she says, is an atmosphere of racial discrimination at the school. “I ask that Smith College stop reducing my personhood to a racial category. Stop telling me what I must think and feel about myself. Stop presuming to know who I am or what my culture is based upon my skin color. Stop asking me to project stereotypes and assumptions onto others based on their skin color.”

I urge you to read Ms. Shaw's entire resignation letter to understand what she has endured.
She is a very brave woman for speaking out, for losing her income (with two children to feed), and especially for turning down a settlement that would have muzzled her for good. The college obviously is scared to death that her story will get out and get traction. It speaks volumes that Smith College was willing to pay her to shut her up.

The Left has found a lever of power to pull and as long as it keeps working they will. Continue to double down. They do not propose any solutions, just punishment.
My brother (Flaming Lib) attended University of Massachusetts, While getting his degree he realized that there was a class that was available at Smith College that he could take, he and a classmate elected to go there instead of waiting until the University of Massachusetts offered it. He was treated like crap, so was the female that went with him because she was not a “thespian”. Their grades reflected their sexuality! I loved that it happened to him!
The left is classic Nanzis—they keep looking for new scapegoats.

I work at a quite prominent university, and if I ever get asked to take one of these non-mandatory but really mandatory racial awareness seminars, I’ve got enough money to retire so it is going to be fun, fun, fun. Everybody will be very uncomfortable ;-)
Smith College is one of the “Seven Sister Colleges” (Barnard College, Bryn Mawr College, Mount Holyoke College, Smith College, Radcliffe College, Vassar College and Wellesley College) that are/were all female only and quite prestigious. Now Radcliffe is Coed and is integrated with Harvard while Barnard is not quite as integrated with Columbia University. Vassar went Coed decades ago and Bryn Mawr is in a consortium with University of Pennsylvania (and others). Thus only Mount Holyoke, Smith and Wellesley Colleges remain all female (for how long???).
Smith College’s motto is ironic for this story; “Ἐν τῇ ἀρετῇ τὴν γνῶσιν” (In Virtue [One Gains] Knowledge). So what does one gain for Virtue Signaling?
Sounds like radical Moslems. When they don’t have “infidels” to murder, they move on to different sects of Islam and murder them.

Prior to Obama becoming President, race relations weren’t perfect, but were mostly harmonious. But that wasn’t in any way good for the racial grievance industry, which kept so many “leaders” like Jackson and Sharpton comfortable. And so, ever since, the racial grievance business has been booming like never before.
Of course, this is the same with every problem that becomes an industry in America. Once that happens, the problem can never be solved, because there are way too many people making big money keeping it going.
If you to be forced out because you refused to comply with an unconstitutional requirement, that would be a constructive firing. That is a violation on more than one constitutional right.

Good for her in not taking a settlement in exchange for silence. It appears to me that she sought out some very good legal advice. That Smith offered a settlement can easily be construed as an admission of liability.
My guess is that Smith will settle for a much bigger number than originally offered. She has made her point with her resignation, so right now, it is all about the money.
Question now is how many other staff members will follow her example. Could be quite a few unless Smith College changes their policies, which is not likely.
I recently got a mailer soliciting money and I thought, “What a nice looking young man on the cover.” I thought it was from my sons’s all-male college. Nope. It was from my alma mater. She was a female who passes as a male. Crazy world we live in.
My parents were so proud when I was accepted. I am relieved they are now dead so they don’t have to see what the school became.
Ah, there are plenty of so called ‘white’ conservatives playing this racist game.. The elitist snobs at so called conservative think tanks, spew total BS that mimics liberalism. WSJ, and the NR creeps, spew junk as the new norm.
I personally pray they all end up begging for dollars at any street corner .. they are not even capable to clean car windows at traffic lights.
My late mother graduated from Vassar where she was on a work scholarship. That meant that she did mopping and other janitorial jobs. Or she was a server in the dining room. She had a picture of her mopping in the bathroom of her dorm, the unisex type of tradition, not the perverted term of today! I cannot believe tat they have any scholarship of that type anymore as it is so degrading (sarc).
Here is a question for YOU! Can they keep, if these crazies have their way, any institution or affiliation of ANY SORT, same sex? If 'trans' trumps 'cis', as it is in athletics and bathrooms, where does it stop? Vassar did go coed, now can the remaining same-sex of anything keep that state?
