Florida governor Ron DeSantis laid into the media over their focus on some Tampa Bay Buccaneer fans for having celebrated the team’s Super Bowl victory without masks.

Governor Ron DeSantis was asked at a press conference if he was concerned that Tampa Bay fans weren’t adhering to mask orders and COVID restrictions ordered by the mayor of Tampa.
“The media’s worried about that, obviously. You guys really love that,” the Florida Republican quickly shot back.
DeSantis then noted how the media doesn’t seem all that concerned about the pandemic when it comes to BLM protests, Antifa insurrections, or celebrating their preferred political candidate.

We have a great governor here in Florida. He really knows what he is doing.
They try so hard to push him around ... and they’re shocked when he punches right back. He fights for Floridians and our freedom.
The real fireworks are going to come with Biden’s supposedly planned EO prohibiting travel to and from Florida.
More Republicans, no, every Republican needs to step up their game and slam the media in each and every interview.
Regardless of what the Dems do or don’t do to him, I’m pretty sure Trump isn’t going to run again in 2024. Given his age, all he accomplished for us, and all that the swamp put him through, who could blame him for not wanting to do it all again. We need a successor MAGA candidate. I’m increasingly of the opinion the DeSantis might just be the candidate we are looking for to continue the MAGA movement.
I’d be happy if Trump took on the kingmaker role and marshalled his influence to defeat RINO’s and get great candidates elected. I believe that will be his course of action. It also makes it difficult for the media because he can work from behind the lines.
Masks, bricks, bats, walking around money were all provided to Antifa and BLM by white liberal ‘elites’... and still the looters didn’t wear their free masks.

Do you remember when DeBlasio was trying to shut down things like Hasidic funerals, etc., but was fine with thousands of unmasked, violent BLM and Antifa rioters in the streets? The press was cool with it too.
He had been claiming that the funerals and weddings in the Jewish community were “super spreader events.” People who had tested positive were asked if they had attended any of these events. However, he then specifically forbade the testers to ask people who tested positive if they had attended any of the BLM demonstrations and riots.
I was thinking the same thing. DeSantis may be the heir apparent to Trump. He takes zero crap from the media, and he’s kept Florida strong through COVID. We’ll know for sure when we see how hard the Dims begin attacking him. They always attack what they fear.
DeSantis nailed it. It all depends on who it is as to who has to follow any rules. The media and leftist, Marxist Democrats have gone stark, raving mad. They KNOW only people who are really liberal at heart will be watching football games in any form or fashion after the kneeling and anthem wickedness.
If you were just watching the news, you'd think DeSantis was mandating people to not take any precautions! The media is doing what it does best; driving a narrative. DeSantis has simply taken the approach that we're all adults and we can make our own decisions, he's respecting the spirit of freedom and that's something the left despises.
So the mayor want’s to sic the police on those not wearing masks? Hopefully De santis will pardon them. What kind of society are we living in.

That’s not going to happen but if it does I have a golf trip next month in FLA . 20 of us going. If they pull that, if I can get 3 of us to go I’ll drive down from MA if I have to. I’ll do it just on principle.
Obviously, if you really want to stick it to both the media and politicians, all you have to do is walk around without a mask.

Pointing out the media’s obvious, over-the-top leftist bias and perpetual hypocrisy *should* be like shooting fish in a barrel. Yet only a handful of GOP politicians are willing to take that shot. Donald J. Trump is one. Desantis is one. Ted Cruz to some extent. A sprinkling of others. The lion’s share, however, cower in fear, praying that the leftist media doesn’t set its sights on them.
