Took my 2 elderly parents to vote in-person yesterday (87 & 97). Needed ‘curbside’ service for one of them, but the county poll folks/volunteers were super nice. They asked if I wanted to see the vote actually ‘cast’, so I followed them inside from the curb & watched it go through the machine.

We have also made sure that two relatives in college have absentee ballots & can vote. One will vote Trump for sure ... the other would vote Bernie if he were running, but he’s not. She graduated in December & is working her first job - that might be a dose of reality & disliking Biden, she may go Trump ... or she’ll probably sit out.

The line was pretty long (made longer by the 6’ physical distancing markers), but folks seemed very patient, & the highly organized process kept things moving nicely. It was a rainy, nasty day - figured that might cut down on the crowd & it probably did, but there were still plenty of folks there. In talking to the person in front of me & seeing the folks voting, I think people are not trusting the mail-in voting. The guy in front of me had several friends who mailed in ballots a good while ago - they have yet to show up online (where you can check that your ballot was received) & they are getting very concerned. He was voting in-person for that very reason - making sure his vote was counted - same with the folks.
