There was a post yesterday about the supposed crazy conversations on the 5th Floor and 35th Street and 12hr days and days off cancelled until basically Christmas yada yada yada met with skepticism. Well Boys and Girls I’m on the inside looking out of this crap and it’s even worse. A very nervous and angry Greater Mich Ave Merchants Assoc have been told by the Usual Suspects of BLM, Antifa etc to prepare for chaos until Biden is seated no exceptions. They have instructed their stores merchandise buyers to basically not have any stock in their Mich Ave stores. Our panicked department has through back channels, reached out to The Feds and get 0 response from the Federal Gov’t who have bluntly informed all Mayors that were foolish enough to turn on the President they are on their own.(Case In point Groot whining about no Fed$$$) Expect Red State cities and Reagan Democratic cities to have any violence immediately and swiftly put down. We could conceivably be in a Civil War on our streets from Nov4th until the day, hopefully President Trumps raises his right hand sometime in early 2021. Expect last summer on steroids in NY, Chicago,Portland, Seattle,SF and poor Austin Texas, expect talk of, get this, some crazed states threatening to secede from the union.start preparing now kids no help is coming and our own neighborhoods could be targeted.
Anyone paying attention has noted a decided reduction in protests, riots and lighting things on fire - aside from Portland which is a basket case regardless. They haven't gone away. They've gone underground, prepping for November. This writer gets the cities correct, the refusals for Federal aid correct and some from friends of ours, exactly what the Michigan Avenue store owners are saying behind the scenes.

My sympathies to the conservative minority and to all other decent people trapped in liberal hell holes like Chicago. My sister lives in Evanston and works in the city. Because she is divorced and has kids in school, she can’t move yet. She’s counting the days.
Sorry BLM, elections in the USA are not settled through terrorism.
I can’t imagine why any business that was able to wouldn’t evacuate Chicago and other Democrat-run American cities as quickly as possible. Why keep paying exorbitant property taxes to city governments that deliberately withhold police protection to score political points?
These cities deserve to become retail deserts.

Some merchants are slow thinkers and need to learn the hard way—a second round of riots will finish downtown Chicago until a law and order mayor is elected, as long as it takes.
Don’t know why there would be riots in Chicago. Afterall, 110% of registered Chicago voters voted for Obama.

The host of “Stocks and Jocks” (podcast out of Chicago) has made similar comments about stores in the “hot zones” choosing not to keep inventory on hand. Maybe a month ago (this was after the second round of raiding in late August) he went to multiple stores looking to replace his phone...they were willing to do repairs, but nobody was keeping any actual phones in stock.
Not a scare tactic - most of downtown Chicago is boarded up or abandoned. People who used to go downtown for a nice dinner are staying away.
The 9 story Macy’s in Water Tower Place recently announced they are closing.
Wait until 2021 - most of the big trade shows at McCormick Place are cancelling or moving to another city. Chicago is on a fast down hill slide because of the riots and looting.

To hear that Michigan Ave. is deflated and mostly is very sad. Even today, a vibrant downtown area can help define the tone and spirit of that town. My hometown of Detroit used to be that way. I visited Chicago one time only, way back when Mayor Burns held office. Remember her?

If I were anyone in these sh*tholes,I would EVACUATE like evacuating from Sarajevo,Beirut or Baghdad. I know some can't and won't. The sick part is that those who can't are the most vulnerable which happen to be......black and single women with children. BLM and Antifa need to be destroyed like Nazism or Baathism.
Jane Bryne won as Mayor because she promised to plow the snow and keep the streets clean.
The previous Mayor, Mike Bilandic failed to plow the streets during a major blizzard and the people voted him out.

We have prog relatives in Evanston who have gone totally silent. What’s happening there? I did try to look at their local news, but it is relentlessly PC.
It is not like Chicago has free and honest elections — it is more like voting in the Soviet Union.
This is the electoral template that Pelosi, Schumer, Sanders, Ocasio-Cortez and the Squad want to foist upon the entire nation.

We shouldn’t call these “Red states Cities” and “Blue State cities”.
There are states that Trump won in 2016, with Democrat governors and Democrat city mayors. These are the problematic cities, but they can exist in a Red State.
I live in the suburbs of Philadelphia - a Democrat run city in a state with a Democrat Governor - but in 2016 we won the right to call PA a Red State - hopefully we can do it again.
However, if President Trump wants to punish Philadelphia - not bail them out - and punish Tom Wolf - and let these Democrats destroy themselves - I’m all for it.
Philadelphians need to reject their Democrats overlords - and they probably need to hit rock bottom for that to ever happen. Statewide, Pennsylvanians need to throw out this horrible Democrat governor Tom Wolf.
We don’t deserve to get bailed out just because we are a Red State. If there is a way to help the rural areas via ending bad trade deals and cutting job killing regulations - that’s great.
But don’t bail out these Democrat leaders - they need to be allowed to fail.
